I am getting a Q6600 next week, but depend on the temperature and overclockability of current B3 stepping, I may wait until end of August to go for G0 stepping.

So, I need to know, what is the temperature and voltage required to push the current B3 Q6600 to 3.4GHz?

sincerly need help, please post your comment.

now the next quest is to find sweet spot for daily use.. i dun want to use more than 1.4v for 24/7 so let see whether this q6600 is like most c2d where 3.2ghz @ default vcore is just piece of cake..

my vcore @ 3.8ghz is 1.55v while 3.85 is 1.6v.. temp idle is around 52c max, load is around 65c max

So, this is a pretty good result, what cooling you using?

I am going to get a B3 stepping next week, no need to wait for G0 since i am on water cooling, should be good enough to keep it cool.

TT BigWater SE + CM AquaTrident CPU Block + additional radiator with fan(12CM TT Big Radiator with fan)

and something strange is, by touching the waterblock connector, i can feel that the water is not too hot because the copper connector is much cooler than my 8800GTS HSF(which reported only 63C), i believe the waterblock is perfectly seated and i dont know what make the heat not transfer to the waterblock, or perhaps it is just reporting error?

siao liao la...............

i run linpack on stock Q6600 and stock heatsink and the temp hit 81C, what is yours compared to mine?
*
jinaun, are you overclocked? what is the vcore?

compared to yours, I am water cooled, and you are stock HSF, i think your is much much more cooler than mine... blush.gif

now i dont know should i trust coretemp or speedfan...

speedfan, gigabyte easytune, bios all give same result, which is verymuch close to the water temperature, my water temperature is 44C.

but, CoreTemp, Intel TAT, Everest give another result, which is almost 80C.......... which should I trust? shakehead.gif

I'm at 2.8Gghz right now, highest coretemp is 90c while eazy tune shows 70c. I've reinstalled the heatsink already. The weird thing is that when I touched the lower part of the heatsink while under full load, it's not even warm! hmm.gif
Still too lazy to install my Prommy tongue.gif

you have the same exact problem like me....

have you tried stock heatshink?
