Core 2 Quad 6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 1066FSB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115017

OCed to:
Clock: 3.00GHz
FSB: 1333
Vcore: 1.35
Temp: 55C-62C w/ stock fan/cooler
----------------------
Qs:
1. Should I decrease my CPU voltage to 1.325 or 1.3? Or others?
Since I've seen you guys running OCed 3.0GHz @ lower than 1.35V.

3. How long will my CPU last if I overclock like this and use it daily basis?  hmm.gif
-----------------------

*This is the 1st time I am doing overclock
*
It won't really decrease lifespan lor tongue.gif

On air it should be able to clock at 3.6ghz, but the temps are gonna be crazy. Vcore would be around 1.45v-1.55v i suppose, i need 1.45v to stabilize my q6600 with LinX and IBT.
*
I supose temp is somewhere in 85 C load with air?
On liquid maybe hmmmm 70 C laugh.gif

But seriously the temps you achieve on programs are mainly for the purpose of testing stability right? Under normal operation you will seldom reach such temperatures right?
*
Yeap
IBT is the most insane one,max my processor at 73 C or so and under normal program max is 58 C or so laugh.gif

i have a difficultty bump to 3.6ghz. Can anyone tell me what is the reason, even i bump Vcore till 1.5V???Actually i no overclock my ram la,possible that it is the key that limited my OC???
*
That is the point of diminishing return or some of your setting are wrong laugh.gif
It is normal for crappy Q6600 to add lot of vcore from say 3.4ghz to 3.6ghz laugh.gif
