mine can boot up 3.6ghz but failure in stress..
got advice for me anyone?

Hey bro, try control the Core temprature.
Try any of this CPU Cooler:
1) Cooler Master Gemin II (put 2 fan 120mm 1800~2000rpm)
2) Cooler Master Hyper 212 (put 2 fan 120mm 1800~2000rpm)
3) Xigmatek HDT-S1283 ~ recommended CPU Cooler

This 3 r the babe... Cute and stuning.. Or go 4 watercool system.

Setup ur Tuning part:

- Change CPU Cooler 1st.. important!
- Disable CPU temp warning in BIOS ( this a risk, )
- Disable auto CPU fan control in BIOS ( run ur fan 100% speed)
- Set 1.48v ~ 1.50v Core Voltage (try 1.48v 1st)
- Set 800Mhz for ur Reaper 1066Mhz ( it will increase when ur pull-up FSB Clock)
- Set CL 5-4-4-15 or 5-5-5-18
- Set 1.40v ~ 1.50v for NB mobo (try 1.40v 1st)
- Set 2.3v for RAM Voltage
- PCI-E 100 ~ 101Mhz
- Set 9X CPU multiplier
- Set 400 CPU FSB Clock (check ur RAM speed! is't increase from 800~1000+)
- save and apply. reboot.

if it can boot to windows.. try to stress with EVEREST.. This way you can view you CPU Temp...
if CPU Temp get to 50°C ~ 65°C after few min.. don't bother if CPU 80°C, test ur system with some heavy game for 15 ~ 30 min.. if nothing hapen.

Use Prime95 to check it for few long hour..

Try it, good luck!

My System:

i set my vcore @ 1.4, my q6600 temperature shoot up to 90c after 2 loops of IBT.
dats is wen i step in & stop the test.

IBT more like killing cpu. mine 20 loops reached 97c. pass it with alot2 of fear.

try play around ur CPU n MCH ref, might help since i tweak it by lowering or up a bit gain some stability.

My Rig only reach 78c @3.60Ghz ~1.48v.. Pass stress test on Everest.
i have not try Xigmatek S-1283 yet. only see in few reviews from the net. So.. i think u should try Cooler Master Gemin II bro..

last time i try 3.6ghz at 1.45v,but scared cos my psu fan spinning loudly when stress wit prime95.i never heard that sound at my psu b4. so i set default blk.huhu.

Also you can consider this air cooling for Q6600 (chek review 1st bro~ u chose it.)

I have the same problem with you when i was using 6600GO, it will never go above 3.2g, anything above 3.2g not stable, i think the mobo problem, my mobo is p35 ds3 rev 2.0

Don't be scared bro, my stock vcore is 1.325 =D I'm running 3.44 also with air cooling. Changing to WC next week =D
Just a piece of advice, if you really plan to get serious with your Q6600 on air cooling i would recommend getting the best air cooling available so you don't regret later on. Initially i skipped on this i got a so so cooler and later on had to spend more money to get a better one.
I personally would recommend the TR True120, TR IFX or the Prolimatech Megahelms if you intend to go with air cooling. My proc will never be able to reach 3.6 on air cooling but maybe yours can due to the lower vcore.

which WC u getting?

Getting a custom kit from clawhammer. Just received the items yesterday and i'll prolly have it done over the weekend and hopefully will be able to show some benchmarks sometime next week =D

envy u guys, can oc more than 400fsb for q6600.. my proc can never stable more than 333fsb, even 334fsb is already unstable.. i think this is due to my mobo limitation, coz if i set 400fsb, it will reboot, and set everything default 2.4ghz in bios.. gues need to change mobo oredy..
