I have seen this article. I am only looking at the Pro variant and from this article it noted that the code number denotes an entry level phone. From a report I have read elsewhere which unfortunately I cannot recall from where, it was stated that there will be an 8T but not the Pro which actually quoted Carl’s statement to this effect.

Therein lies my predicament. *sigh*.

Ya as per TOMEI-R mentioned, there will be a Pro variant to go along with 8T. I'm ok with just 8T but because only single flagship exist, they had to put every best part they have in it yet priced it fair, don't think they will do that. Instead had the same Pro and non Pro, maintain Pro at the top while fit in the non Pro close to Nord would make much more sense marketing wise.

The official MY set ones tend to be a bit pricey, even during sale you'd probably get RM200-RM300 off at best. The parallel imported sets are cheaper, but best buy them from a reputable seller with good feedback for peace of mind.

Whats the difference between local and imported set?

Yes, pretty much. Lots of people go the imported route to save some $$$, plus the service provided by the official distributor is not that great anyway..

Confirmed that there will be a 8T and 8T Pro series, unless they want to name it differently. But then again, utilizing the 865T would mean increase in pricing again.  sweat.gif

I hope and fervently wish you are right. But from the said article that I read which quoted Carl Pei, there’s no TPro for their phone this year.

This begs one question be to asked of you then. Why are you so sure there is? You know something that most of us don’t?!

Thanks for your input. With it however, I am still at square one of my dilemma.

It's Oneplus so called tradition to have another new model every six months. The OP8 Pro is the flagship model and it has to be amongst the top performers in its class, so Oneplus will come up with an updated version to stay on top of their game. So it will be here.

I won’t dispute history or tradition but my main point of contention is that Carl Pei himself has reportedly stated that for this year, an 8T is in the works but not the Pro. Even the data which surfaced depicted that. Too bad I can’t extrapolate for you all to view as it has slipped me where I read it. But even based on historical records, this is the first time OnePlus has come out with a true blue flagship and not just a flagship killer. Hence, I suppose, this move, if it’s true.

Anyway, only time will tell. Which means I still have my dilemma. LOL.

Unless one works inside Oneplus and is in charge of the project, everything other people say is mere speculation

I won’t dispute your statement as a stand-alone.

But, I reiterate. There was an article which quoted the Oneplus founder. Of course, the authenticity is now called for. And that’s the proximate point of my dilemma. Hence this slew of comments.

Anyway, at the end of the day, I’ll have to decide irrespectively.

Thanks. I will only resort to buying AP sets if there are no alternatives like the Samsungs but I gave up on the idea since there is this OP8 Pro here. I am in no particular hurry though. Still have phones to use. Cheers.
