If I’m not mistaken that’s before the MCO period. MCO started on 18th of March and if you’re told to take unpaid leave before the MCO, it’s legal. Starting 18th of March till MCO being lifted, must pay salary in full.

Not true after 6th April. your boss will implement pay cut.

LOL, the tommy guy wrote this article in the future [4-Jun-2020] HAHAHAH

anyway, its too little info there.. should we read the article below instead?

https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...faqs-on-the-mco

its from thestar on 6-Apr 2020, it basically says that employer CAN implement such thing but with condition i supposed..

if you are an employee under contract, the employer is obligated to pay you.. well, likely.. correct me if im wrong..

For those who receive HR letter quoting the pandemic to solicit employee's agreement to pay cut but also indicates that everything is status quo until situation improves, what can employees do except to sign the letter (given 48 hours)?

What if situation improves but not as pre pandemic but employer still maintains pay cut beyond the agreed period and send another letter? What are the employees right? Any sifus please advise? Many thanks in advance.

There shouldn't be emotional element when it comes to work and salary.

Employees are dispensable and you can be replaced easily anytime soon. Your employer will feel nothing.

In a business world, that's the risk they need to take in return in getting their high salary. You don't have to feel sad for your employer.

He/She needs to pay. If not, please do collective suing.

Hope all things turn out ok for you.

Nothing will happen to your boss if you report. There are thousands of SMEs in the same boat and they are  going to close down if the govt doesn't help them. By all means make a report if you want but be prepared to look for another job in a recession.

This is suicide case, end of the day if employer closed down they dont even have to paid anything.
Have a good discussion between employer and employee so both can achieve win win situation.

Working at SME company.
Received lengthy email circulation from boss this morning.

Just summarize:

1) March salary will be paid in full, but is subjected to annual leave deduction. Advance leave will be applied. Annual leave taken will be reverted if work on Saturday/Sunday when required.
2) But from 1st to 14 April onwards, it will be considered as unpaid leave. Same will be applied if any further extension.

The 1st part is okay... but for the 2nd part
Is it allowable for employer to implement unpaid leave during MCO?
I heard the government said salary need to be paid during MCO?

Is there anyone here with similar experience?
Please kindly advise.

you can always find a new job. if you know boss is treating you like shit, might as well quit right?
and if you are worried that you can find a job after quitting, might as well stay, right?

don't need to check what's employee's right. retain you day day give you face + extra extra work force you leave yourself also no use what.
make you own judgement.
