Hmm, but even if you say on par with 7600GT, i've seen 8600GT doing pretty well with the new revision drivers.
A humbly overclocker 86gt should be able to do 5k++ on 3dmark06 with a proper rig. I'm just looking for something which will give me at least some smooth and playable frames in CMR Dirt and ProDrive...

8600Gts is out of my budget range, and it's not really that worth.
Paying RM5xx for the card, i might as well get a 2nd hand 8800GTS, but with either of those means i gotta change my PSU.
I dun think my 400w Acbel will be able to handle an 8600GTS, i only have 18a on my 12v, so means even if i mod a 6pin PCI-E connector for it, it's still not going to be a pretty picture.

The other one is the Galaxy 8600GE.
It's a GT core, but clocked at 650mhz. 1ns rams at 2000Mhz...

Both comes with 6 pin PCI-E connectors...

If the price is as what i was released by AMD, the Intel Quad Cores might have some competition.
Phenom 9700 should launch for around RM950, so we'll see the Phenom or the Q6600 do better at the almost same budget range. However the prices for the lower end Phenom do not look that impressive, The 9500 and 9600 should be between 800-900, so almost same price as the 9700. And actual speed only 100mhz difference, so i'm expecting to see a lot of people getting the 9500 and clocking it ot 9700 speeds. 200Mhz is nothing to overclock, even the worst batch should not have problem doing that...

I forgot but i know i've read somewhere where the Phenom will be able to do 3.0 on Air which is pretty decent.
Not sure about the maximum these procs can go though.
