[Introduction]

For a while , we have been Gearin' and Gearin' non stop . 80% friendlist is on Gears even though the game was already released for quite some times . Somehow , IMO we need new MP titles , as what LIVE BTW without fragging fiesta ? Gears was a blast no doubt , beyond spectacular , and addictive but sometimes with the lack of available mode(+ some factors) , the game seems dull sometime , maybe just 'tad' sometime . Despite playing the game quite long already , I'm still a noob so maybe there's where my opinion came from.

So , to stop ended up boring , several titles has came to mind during our Gears game last night .This new titles might be sequels or spin off from previous classic hence new IPs are totally welcomed. To entirely relieve our fraggin spirit , here are the contenders . (in no orders)

p/s : Not accepting existing titles , our aim is to look forward . It's pretty much like a hyping thread , generate more interest and love for the upcoming titles .

[The Contenders]


1. Unreal Tournament 3

No doubt , the major fast pace , shoot-em' up and death brawl of the FPS MP genre. I'll dub it with UT for convenience , the game was popular since the UT Classic era. All time classic favorite mode such as the Onslaught ,Deathmatch , Team Deathmatch and CTF . Newer mode available on each iteration and no exception to UT3 . With wacky edition of custom mod , we're looking for an extra array of DLC so hopefully M$ won't be a b$tch here . Besides , Epic(did I mention Epic) please make the most important come back of "HOly Shieeeeet" . Gears was dull without it


2. Quake Wars : Enemy Territory

A spin off from RTCW : ET . In case anyone who's in confuciouism , Return To Castle Wolfenstein is a free-to-play MP only squad based objective driven FPS . 2 team is divided to conquer the objectives and each team has their own specialist much like BF series. However , the objectives is not limited to conquest , but to fully utilized every field in successfully meet the objectives. Spawn kill with field ops(specialist to call upon airstrike) was one of the best moment, I tried it before last time. So , with this new title of Strogg VS human , it only means more variation to the gameplay . Strogg , the alien had different technology and beyond human capability while the human are more cunning .


3. Halo 3

Everyone anticipated title , and yet I had nothing to say about it . Why ? Never really play it so I don't dare to comment much . Preferred some veteran to enlighten this section .


4. Call Of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare

Wow , the gameplay demo was super duper awesome . After that ? Nothing can be said . Never dig more about the game , but I'll reckon it will be much like the previous COD MP featuring team deathmatch etc. A WW2 turned modern , alot of hit and miss . We miss the Thompson , Bar ,and Springfield ! But the hit , no more Nazis ? I'm not very fond or hate them , SRSLY .

This thread was created out of boredom . Hope you guys will like the idea of presenting new fresh titles , and please do recommend more games to be add into the section . Halo 3 need some elaboration too

How come Rainbow Six Vegas was left out of the list? That's a game that's been released for almost a year now, has awesome multiplayer, and somehow it's managed to slip past this list?

I would suggest you come onboard to try a session one of these days.

Ah I see. Point taken. However IMHO there's more than enough hype for these new titles already - and most of the time hype ends up being just that. Can't love what you don't have, and all that.

Codemasters' upcoming Operation Flashpoint 2
Not much known about it yet, so I guess this is one game that "needs" the hype.
OFP2 is the official sequel to Operation Flashpoint, however some speculate that the engine (a new FPS version of codemasters neon engine recently used in colin McRae DiRT) and overall experience will be different from that of Operation Flashpoint not least because a different developer will create the game.

Speculating is always fun IMO . Besides , x360 still being far from the MP arenas that have been done on the PC . I'm just digging mere interest from the FPS junkies available so that we can know how our beloved games going to be shaped up .

Anyway , I don't see an MGS 4 thread is better than the hype .

My most anticipate titles are - Halo 3 & Call of DUty 4!!!!

UT 3 next year only come out and i don't think the game suit the console, it's super fast pace~

Halo 2> all existing titles Come borrow & play my Halo 2 then you will know

And don't forget The Orange Box. Team Fortress 2 FTW!!
Ace Combat can also be considered as a shooter.

The PS3 has keyboard/mouse support for UT3 , but none is being said from M$ . It might be fast pace , but ain't Unreal Championship on Xbox the similar game ? I heard it's highly enjoyable right ?

Well most of us played Unreal Tournament..im not saying its a bad game...far far from it...its just that i want to explore new things....ask yourselves...when was the last time you fought with real world weapons in a global conflict(COD4)...r6 doest count since its just a CT operation ...and i would love to kill some Strogg butt in QUAKE Wars...With artillery placements, anti tank weapons placements, emergent objectives all make that game unique...so there...my two cents...but i would still get all the games you mentioned on your list Breathru...

Army Of 2 is more of a co-op goodness I believe , not mad fragging hehehe .

Im talking about Unreal Tournament 3 lar , brother ghost . Unreal Tournament is pure MP game , despite offline play with bots . Unreal 3 on the other hand might be the sequel to Unreal series , which is different from the Unreal Tournament .

EDIT : it will only be released on PS3 this year. It may be available on other consoles but not this year

The Scourge Project is 4 persons co-op play, each with it's own story, which sounds very innovative. i may be here, but i'm not necessarily here for you.

Quake Wars still long time more ... the PC version will release 1st .. dammit.

Anyway .. i vote for Halo 3, this game will sure dominate the MP section. Gears will be history .. haha

What about Tom Clancy's EndWar?

I tot EndWar is a RTS ??
