There's a new navigation apps in apps gallery "petal map". Not bad. Huawei apps slowly coming together. Too bad they didn't start earlier as they thought Google had their back on the software front hehe.

Have you tried this Petal Map? Is the map up to date, for you at least to the places you have navigated to?

I tried the Huawei map in my friend’s Mate 30Pro but it leaves a lot to be desired.

Haha, I downloaded it too to check it out.
Very first thing I noticed is that it's so out of date, it still shows a Giant supermarket near me that closed years ago!

Petal Map is basically Huawei Map, it still has a long way to go, still lacking many features and info, many location not updated too.

For those who are on HMS, Grab is now officially available on App Gallery. smile.gif

Not sure when Waze would be available though, sorry about that...

But considering the fact that many have added Waze to the Wishlist section on App Gallery, it should be coming soon since the demand is really high, just the matter of how quick Waze is gonna port their app into App Gallery...

It literally took Grab like almost a year to port their app into App Gallery, got really surprised when I received a notification about it earlier today. smile.gif

hahahaha what laugh.gif

this is worst than gran turismo not porting in to windows forever laugh.gif

Is clash of clans, Dropbox worked in huawei?

I heard Waze is not working in huawei. Is it true?

Does huawei has an equivalent app of iBook from Apple?

Just tried installing Clash of Clans and Dropbox, both are apk

Clash of Clans is working fine, however, you can only login via Supercell ID...

Dropbox seems to be working fine too, but I didn't login cuz I don't have a Dropbox account.

As for Waze, it doesn't work because the map wouldn't show up.

Huawei Book is the equivalent app of iBook, but doesn't seem to have much choices though. Hope this helps! smile.gif

For some reason doesn't work on mine, the map just wouldn't show up, it could be just me.

But then I don't drive much so I don't really use Waze, only tried to install recently to test. biggrin.gif

2 questions on the P40 (non-Pro) versions
(1) Any1 know if it has OIS on main camera? On Huawei page, it seems missing OIS on its main camera, while Pro and Pro+ have it.
(2) How is the super wide performance at night? Have you tried it? I had tried the pro version. It is very good and close to the main camera. But color still lost to its main camera.

Is P40 Pro still the kind of imaging? Which are the competitor? I read about Mate 40 pro missing OIS on its main camera, which is a surprise to me.

Hello there! Those who know me know I procrastinate a bit when it comes to acquiring new phones. One of the reasons is I still have a few flagship phones with me. So, I am in no particular hurry. And hence, I make sure all factors are considered before diving into getting one.

As a matter of fact, I also have my eye on the S21 Ultra.

Cheers.

What's so good on the S21 Ultra? I tried the S20 Ultra vs P40 pro on main camera and ultrawide in office indoor, then check the quality on laptop.. the Samsung lots of noises... doh.gif But the good thing with S20 is that the ultra wide is much wider...

To humour you, I’ll venture an answer. Unlike many people but at the same breath, also similar to a lot of others, I look at every possible aspects and not just one particular feature. You apparently are somewhat one dimensional, going by what you have posted. And it would be remiss of me if I don’t mention that no one phone is perfect and that’s exactly why I said what I stated in the post you responded to.

To reiterate what I have posted a zillion times since I became a member of this forum, to each his own and so long as you are happy with a particular gadget, go for it. Afterall, it’s your money. Cheers.
