QUOTE(RegentCid @ Dec 27 2021, 10:54 PM) My Flight was from Tokyo to KUL transit Via Singapore. Malaysia & Singapore got VTL flight. Once reach KUL airport, Health ministry staff will do RT-PCR test, once get your result, staff will update my sejahtera status into yellow. (VTL Flight privileged) $60 US Dollar for normal RT-PCR Test (3 hour waiting for result) // $90 US Dollar for Express RT-PCR test (1 hour waiting for result) Yellow Status are no quarantine needed & no wrist tag. Need to do 3 RT-PCR test & 4 Saliva test kit (Speedmart 99) and upload result daily. Day 7 I do final RT-PCR test in Hospital and upload result direct change to blue. How did you get on an VTL flight via transit ? There is an requirement to stay in Singapore for 14 days before one qualifies for the VTL flight to Malaysia.

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Dec 28 2021, 01:30 PM) Not sure. Maybe mistake or loophole on staff. VTL flight between Sin - KUL was massive crowd during opening few day. I think this 14 day was apply for entering Singapore. Because I was not entering Singapore. VTL requirement is same for both ways. I'm surprised you managed to board the plane or even able to purchased the VTL tickets as it's sold separately with quota  . This is interesting. I was looking into this method for bypassing quarantine for the trip to europe but abandon this after seeing the requirements. https://www.mot.gov.my/en/Pages/VTL/Vaccina...Dec%202021).pdfPrior to departing for Malaysia, VTL travellers travelling from Singapore must: 4.1.1 Remain in Singapore and/or Malaysia in the last 14 consecutive days before departing for Malaysia;

QUOTE(IntensiveBytes @ Dec 29 2021, 01:43 AM) Which country in Europe are you referring to? As far as I know, we can travel to Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, UK, France without quarantine. I’m currently planning a trip to Turkey + Netherlands/Greece I would steer away from those marked as high risk by MOH ie: UK, France. There's a chance they'll change policy to mandatory quarantine at gov facility ( no home quarantine) when you get back. This post has been edited by tZZ: Dec 29 2021, 05:22 PM

QUOTE(sheushen @ Sep 2 2022, 05:18 PM) Anyone knows any travel company that can provide ERFS without joining their package? Since non-guided tour is now allowed. You can enquire Japan Guide Agency. It costs about 30k or 35k yen. You should start the process now if one intends to join the upcoming ski season as I anticipate the visa process to be long.

QUOTE(WooTz @ Sep 24 2022, 03:26 PM) they don't recognize it. so just hole up in your house until travel day, take the darn PCR test and submit to mySOS app (their mysejahtera) before arriving in Japan. the rest is essentially pre-covid liao, just mask up as usual Japan has issued a new circular and will recognize all vaccines approved by WHO which means Sinovac is now in approve list : In addition, all returnees and entrants will now be required to provide either a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate (3 doses) of vaccines on the Emergency Use List of World Health Organization (WHO) or a certificate of negative result of pre-departure COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to departing from the original country/region. JR seems to have removed their JR EAST PASS Flex 5 days pass (any 5 days in 14 days travel) and replaced it with continuous 5 days. Value reduced considerably compared to the old pass.

QUOTE(sben525 @ Oct 20 2022, 05:57 PM) ANA airlines on sale now, Tokyo (Haneda) return RM3024 Those who haven't booked their tickets should grab it. This is dirt cheap. For comparison, the ticket i got a few weeks back was at 5K.

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jan 7 2023, 10:02 PM) Alert News! Hokkaido Rail Update: From Sapporo Station Heading Asahikawa Station are all suspended. From Chitose Station Heading Hakodate Station & Obihiro Station / Kushiro Station are all suspended. From Sapporo Station Heading South maximum until Chitose & New Chitose Airport Station. From Shin-Hokodate Station only got train service to Hakodate Station only. Service Reopen on 26 Feb 2023 Road to Lake Shikotsu Fully Closed until further notice. This doesn't sound right. Can please share the source ? No way they would close all train service from sapporo to ashikawa for more than a month.

QUOTE(@Adele @ Mar 4 2023, 07:52 PM) hi everyone, I am trying to buy train ticket of jr east tokyo to kawaguchiko but whenever i go to payment, it says card not verified. OR verify already I ask to send OTP i never received it. I try so many times can anyone advise me how to purchase the tickets pls thanks It's the website issue. I've tried multiple local visa/master ie maybank, hsbc...etc; it won't work. Ends up with Tac is not sent or error message displayed. I think it's the way our local 3DS is setup. Tried with oversea issued cards sg/thai and it went through.

QUOTE(hjh87 @ Mar 14 2023, 08:31 PM) Hi Guys, Just saw news, cherry blossom started today in Tokyo. Already bought ticket month ago, will this timing still able to see it? 26 to 29 March (Osaka & Kyoto) 1st to 6th April (Tokyo) It's been a very warm winter this season. Some trees were already flowering when I left Tokyo last week. You highly unlikely to see the first blossom in April for tokyo.

QUOTE(@Adele @ Mar 17 2023, 11:00 PM) Yo mind sharing abt the weather, if wear msian clothes with a jacket is sufficient? Or still need to layer with heattech on top and bottom Just a t-shirt and a down jacket will do or swap the t-shirt with a long sleeve shirt if it's cold. Tokyo isn't that cold but if temps do drop, you can always duck indoors to warm up; benefits of being in a city.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Sep 10 2023, 03:48 PM) Planning my Feb2024 trip to go skiing. Initial plan was to go to Hokkaido (I've gone to many Honshu resorts but never Niseko) and OH MY GOODNESS hotels (the ski-in/ski-out ones) and stuff are so expensive in Niseko ... for e.g. grand hyatt, non ski time maybe rm1k+ per night, ski season time rm4k+ per night (for normal small room hor, not even suite). Why Niseko ? Higher price aside, with the large crowds the groomed slopes on Hirafu/Hanazono get tracked out by lunch time. Unless you're able to enjoy the BC I would not recommend niseko. Go for club med Kiroro or Tomamu if you're going with family and kids. Leave them with the kids instructor (aka nanny) and the adults go enjoy the slopes.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Sep 11 2023, 08:43 AM) Boss ... Club Med is one lvl higher even. rm30k/rm37k (Sahoro/Tomamu respectively) for 5 nights for my dates is a little (actually a LOT) out of my capability lol. What I'm looking at now is around rm24k for ski-in-ski-out accoms, full day ski school for all, eq rental and ski pass. But then again that 24k doesn't include food yet vs Club Med being all inclusive with all the food and activities, and the nanny would be much better than the normal ski schools hor. Hmmm. The prices have indeed risen astronomically Btw, some? club meds have min age for kids. So check with them before deciding.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Mar 10 2024, 02:37 PM) Sigh that’s another worry. Next year January my wife family side doing Hokkaido trip. But will have elderly (her parents) and kid as young as 2 years old, I guess taking train is out of the question and must drive for maximum comfort for them, but I dun want to drive in winter … The resort liner bus direct to Rusutsu is the best option. Best place to stay for families would obviously be Westin with it's duplex layout and plenty of beds. Can easily fit 6 people.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Mar 3 2024, 09:58 AM) Prices of the lifts and ropeway at Mt Zao is also slighty pricier than that of the likes of Tomamu and Niseko. That's definitely wrong. Zao or any resort in Tohoku is cheap in comparison with Niseko. Niseko single day lift pass is one of the priciest at 9500 yen. Rusutsu holds the top spot at 11500 for single day pass. Those prices will surely rise come 2024/2025 winter season.
