QUOTE(wyen @ Jan 29 2023, 11:19 AM) Taking Vietnam Airlines from Nagoya Chubu Airport to Malaysia. Saw air asia 1 way from KIX to KL already cost rm 1k without luggage and meal, but VN cost RM 1.18k from Nagoya. Since Nagoya is more convenient for this trip hence probably will take this airlines instead. Transit 1 hr at Hanoi so overall 9 hours so not too bad though yeah VN airlines is not bad. taken it to nagoya via HCM in 2019 on A321. food serving is generous and delicious.BTW i booked this air asia to KIX during promo at RM 500+, going backpacking with less clothes and gonna shop there esp GU outlets and return to KL with hauls😬 Went Japan few times and clothes GU never disappointing. Although I prefer clothes in Korea range rm15-40 back on year 2014 more quality and still wearable until now, GU clothes more variety with same quality as Uniqlo but cheaper. wyen liked this post

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ May 6 2023, 10:56 PM) Hi bro, yes it was great! Kamikochi was one of the best highlights in the trip Did u do the kurobe gorge train ride? Highly recommended. It is one of highlights beside kamikochi. There's one highway scenic route into mountain pass ( poor memory can't rmbr, 5yrs ago)You can get the round trip bus ticket from Takayama Nohi bus terminal, it’s a 7 day open ticket, meaning you can do the trip within 7 days but once you start you need to complete the return on the same day You can hop on and off the bus from hirayu onsen to Kamikochi Beautiful walk but make sure you take the longer route to myojin bridge and take the shorter route back, we regretted taking the opposite because the longer route has more to offer When you going bro? It was a bit cold when we went a couple of weeks back |

QUOTE(sadukarzz @ Nov 21 2023, 04:52 PM) Leg room is plentiful, more if not same as MAS economy. thanks for the headsup. yeah i booked Fukuoka for 1.8k return during raya. uhhh peak period, no choice, is the only time we can get all family members together. SIA is doing around 3.8k . kinda no brainer, for little inconvenienceIf you don't mind staying a night in Manila, its actually a very good deal if you manage to get its tickets. Airport relatively close to Pasay (Mall of Asia, Newport casinos etc). But do note that the airport terminal is not walkable to newport, need to take grab. For PAL, I had WiFi free onboard, wasn't fast, but enough to text. Right now Vietnam Airlines and Philippines Airlines have been selling seats for cheap for full service airlines, but between PAL and VNA, I prefer PAL. No delays from them so far (small 5 - 10 minutes adjustments few weeks before flight), but VNA has been readjusting time by the hours (1-3 hours adjustments to original flight time). yeah used to take VN to b4 c19, too bad prices are expensive now, n they cut a daily night flight, making the transit super long This post has been edited by kucingfight: Nov 21 2023, 06:56 PM |

QUOTE(freestyler87 @ Nov 23 2023, 07:51 AM) Apologies let me share in more details, as always, as shared by many here, always ONLY book with the airlines itself. do not go tru 3rd party agencies.Usually im seaching thorough Skyscanner there's self transit for some flight. Yours is direct purchase from PAL am I correct? there are some issues especially rescheduling/cancellation/refunds |

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Nov 24 2023, 09:14 AM) for those looking for cheaper fares to Japan and don't mind few transits, you might want to consider Scoot also scoot= makes it 2 transit (with SG)Their flights with layover in Taiwan usually is cheaper than their direct flights Another one to consider is Vietjet with layover in Vietnam there's korean air, thai airways too, but i never seen them in bargains vietjet, cebu pacific...thing is, after factoring baggages and transit risk, PAL still cheapest This post has been edited by kucingfight: Nov 24 2023, 10:04 PM |

QUOTE(kenloh7 @ Dec 1 2023, 03:58 PM) Hi All, I will be going to Nagoya-Osaka-Kyoto on April 3rd-12th. adviseable to just focus around osaka-kyotoBasic itinerary will be as below: 3/4/24 Wed - Touch down Nagoya 930am, direct go to Osaka by shinkansen. 4/4/24 Thursday - Full day in Universal Studios Osaka. (is Thursday the least peak period of the week?) And any special holiday on 4/4/2024 that may cause it to have higher crowd? I wish to enjoy as many rides as possible with less queue. 5/4/24 Friday - Full day Nara (train from Osaka) 6/4/24 Saturday - Half day Osaka, then train to Kyoto in evening 7/4/24 Sunday - Full day Kyoto 8/4/24 Monday - Early morning Arashiyama bamboo forest, hoping to avoid crowds on a Monday. Then Sagano romantic train. Travel back to Nagoya before evening. 9-12/4/24 Tuesday - Friday - 4D3N in Nagoya city (and maybe Takayama and Shirakawago) So total of 9 nights, 3 is in Osaka, 2 in Kyoto, 4 in Nagoya. I planned my trip around the USJ and Arashiyama, hoping to get the least crowd. Please let me know if this plan works. Nagoya (and its ouskirt) is quite big. no point to rush here n there , ending up being tired and dont enjoy much |

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Feb 21 2024, 02:58 PM) i shall have look at those places. any reason to stay at takayama over shirakawago other than the price and more choices? also the reason why i was not thinking of toyama is because I dun think i can handle the diy to alpine route with all the visitors - prefer a bit more chill. that being said guided tours via klook only depart from nagano. the accommodations i book all have free cancellation. so still can adjust if needed to. QUOTE(RegentCid @ Feb 21 2024, 03:14 PM) Takayama got alot restraurant, snack, cafe & Onsen. Proper little town. Shirakawago got nothing, basically nothing. Dinner cooked by accomodation, once dinner done, That it, Ends, no more entertaiment, outside pitch black, nothing...no cafe, no restraurant, no entertaiment. If you like quiet, chill, super boring enviroment. Then can overnight at Shirakawago. yup as shared by RegentCid, better to stay at takayama. distance is not far, i think like 1hr drive only? below is my itinerary in 2018 (Nov). it's less tiring changing hotels everydayinitially i leave the choice open for alpine route, but we didnt do it, one due to high cost, and also to take it slower and chill. instead we went for a drive on hakusan shirakawago white road. i think i swapped itineraries of 6-7th nov. anyways, dont set ur too high expectation of shirawakago, as they say reality vs expectation ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by kucingfight: Feb 22 2024, 10:09 AM |

QUOTE(NXaqua @ Mar 14 2024, 08:50 AM) Morning sifu, should be fine, what's important is NAME & DOBI have purchased Malaysia Airline ticket for my flight to Narita Airport. On the 4th day, I have booked Jetstar to fly from Narita to Sapporo. On the 10th day, I plan to take Thai Airway from Sapporo to KL. However when booking the Jetstar ( via Agoda ) and Thai Airway ( their website ) , they did not ask to key in our passport or ID number. Please advise whether the airline will allow me to board the flight without my ID being reflected in their system. Thanks. |

QUOTE(ch1ck3n @ Apr 5 2024, 09:24 AM) when u take PAL, make sure the transit time is enough, heard that 2 hours transit is also abit dangerous, cause Manila Airport is super disorganised. lol, my PAL flight is coming in 2 days. yeah some minor flight adjustments, but my return flight was cancelled, had to push next day and overnight at MNL .. uhhh..if only for the priceif the difference is like super small, better be safe, fly another airline. save up in thru other methods. |

QUOTE(ch1ck3n @ Apr 5 2024, 03:59 PM) back then after covid, before global open. i think PAL was charging almost only RM 800 for a return ticket. good value! yeah precovid, vietnam airlines were doing rm700-800 return. taken them twice, service was good and timelyMNL airport is very dis-organised from what I watch on YT, anyways just go airport early la to be safe! Have a good flight ! wow u got good timing, U will still be able to catch the cherry blossom at full bloom. Only this time, no choice, but with PAL, first time experience (1.8k return) .. |

so my latest flight was PAL to Fukuoka
below my POV - checking in KLIA was slow (prolly Raya holidays), otherwise, it's smooth n no fuss - outgoing flight was around 30m later, which is ok - A321-200. No IFE, seat n pitch is ok. no complaints. i think it slightly roomier than MAS if i can recall - Food serving was surprisingly fast and efficient. i would have to give it to them for taste and portion. especially to japan destinations. just look at the presentation - transiting in T1 NAIA, isn't so bad as it seems. yeah, old airport, but you can find places to sit if you know where - only 2 toilets (economy) at the back. so you can imagine how queued it will be - prolly the only downside, was transiting time i would give it 8/10. will consider it again? for sure, if the prices are a bargain ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
