Follow up question.. The air ticket for ANA now is around RM3k for the planned dates. Do you guys think it will go lower afterwards? Or is this like the normal price already? Air Asia's flights have that warning sign which worries me lol
*
back before covid, price usually hover around 2.6-2.8k return ticket KUL - HND/NRT

safe to say if you seen lowest, better book before it goes up.

Hi guys,

First time flying here, so I planned to go to Osaka at the end of this February but flying from Changi Airport and returning from Osaka to Changi Airport, then only i travel back to KL. Am I allowed to travel like that because its cheaper and less layover haha? I dont hold any permanent or long term stay in Singapore. Thanks in advance for replying!
*
can, I did this once.

mine is like this

went to Tokyo in 1 day
KL to SG via bus > board plane at Changi Airport > plane fly back to KLIA > KLIA to NRT

come back to KL
NRT > KLIA full stop

I had to stop at KLIA coz cant tahan sit in another flight to SG lol

so my bus return ticket burned, and I had credit for cancelled SG flight

Oh, so you can actually queue and get in? Was looking at their webpage and they say you need a fast pass to get in.
*
the advantage when you have the pass is you can enjoy other rides and attraction before you going there within your designated time.

else if you want to cheap out, just queue early and power walk yourself to SNW. if you lucky, sometime staff will open the gate 1 hour before official opening time.

Im going there on February next year and planning to buy USJ tickets on klook with timed ticket to SNW.

but I been there before (no SNW yet, but harry potter attraction was one of the hype that time), power walked my ass to get timed tickets. then I just go queue other rides and still managed to ride all w/o express pass.

Personally, I've flown a few times with PAL.

Their in-plane experience from KUL > MNL is older fleet but still alright for me, more or less same like MAS.

But for longer trips such as (MNL > KIX; MNL > SYD; MNL > HND), I would say PAL is way better than MAS (took MAS business class, didn't even felt as wow compared to PAL economy for the price points).

The only thing is transit experience, if you can, go for either transit 1 full day (arrive morning, fly next morning); or as short as possible (< 3 hours). Anything in between 3 - 16 hours would not be recommended as the airport is rather small and nothing much for you to do.

Youtube reviews generally do not paint a full picture of the price point you pay (for full service airlines).

Of course, AirAsia might be slightly cheaper if buy early (about 1.3k return trip, but you still need to add luggage); but PAL includes luggage 30kg + meals + in flight entertainment (I bought mine for 1.5k return).

thank you for the detailed reply. been looking for one. noted on the transit time. probably will make time to browse PAL ticket to tokyo for the tokyo game show this year.

I took MAS last year trip to Bali, taken the business seat for a very good deal and I gotta agree with you. MAS failed to wow me, but the hospitality of the crew as I know it is still there according to my experience.
they arent making profit anyway at the 1st place, plus the dated cabin vs other fledge's refreshed cabin makes them a hard choice when travelling overseas.

I took AA twice to Japan last time, but I just cant be bothered with IFE-less flight. so boring haha

Same like mine but I got from another seller. Anyway, I set it up before I flew out from Malaysia. Once reached Tokyo, like I was still above the sky, I already turned data roaming on and it detected the signal. laugh.gif
Anyway, with our high inflation in Malaysia especially I reside in KL, I really don't find stuff in Japan expensive anymore. Yen also drops a lot and that is an advantage also. I find everything in Japan is so affordable and cheap to an extent compared to last two trips to Japan. I came back from HK in July and that was really expensive. For example, the entrance ticket to Disneyland HK was RM 450 but I paid around RM 270 for Disneysea (Disneyland also the same price) from Klook during 10.10 sales. We also bought two premium passes in Disneysea to get fast access, yeah that's expensive but well for time saving and you can do without it.

A bowl of ramen is only 850 yen and I pay more in KL actually. A bottle of Evian mineral water is like 120 yen or something, we can't get that price in Malaysia. Totally won't mind going back to Japan for a holiday again. So, next year we will go again. biggrin.gif

About 6 days with some shopping, we only spent less than RM 4k for two persons (food, cafe visits, souvenirs, shopping, transportation in Tokyo). We didn't skim on food etc.
*
true. ramen/udon large size also cost less than 1k yen if you know where to find. when in tokyo, i always go back and find hanamaru-don since their branch in midvalley close down.

with PAL also hit and miss. 4 sector of flights (KL to MNL to KIX and Vice versa), I only get 1 flight with IFE.

Not sure about the routes you are taking but last April I took a few Shinkansens and normal trains using JR pass around 6-7 different cities, no luggage reservation needed but it’s a bit of a hassle if your bags are huge, the compartments are limited and if you put your luggage near your leg space, you don’t have much place to put your legs

You can google for the actual dimension of the luggage size that needs reservation on japan train. Most luggage does not fall into that category. It has to be real big...
*
noted. my and wife's lugagge only standard 24 inch. i guess no reservation needed for haruka then.

thanks!
