That time spring kicks in? Thinking that time but cant due to kids holiday ending with orientation, school preparation started. Also sakura season more exp  blush.gif
Im planning to get Tokyo Horikuri Arch Pass as my return flight will be in Tokyo & I will be going to Karuizawa.
In osaka, I yet goes into detail on the routes but the plan is maybe get metro day pass like in Tokyo & utilise existing Suica if needed.
I got 2 days to fill for Osaka that yet determined as I've been scrolling thru for info. Maybe will just go for day trip that can use the Pass like Kobe

hi all, me first time go tōkyō next year. Need some advices from fellow forumers.  flight will be in and out from Narita. Need advice on accommodation. Around Tokyo station?Sorry as 1 haven't started my homework yet. 😅
*
Very general question but understandable since u haven't done anything yet & its still long way to go. Just sharing my exp of preparing for my upcoming trip later this mth.
Choose the month with the best weather first like apr/may or oct/nov.
Seach for your flight.
Search for you hotel location. Anywhere within walking distance to yamanote line stations should be fine if you plan on taking the train & subway. This way you can have more options based on your budget.

Ok start this first biggrin.gif

initial plan was maybe stay around  shibuya! but many recommend to stay around Ueno. what's your take?
*
Tokyo has very extensive train/subway system that if you stay within walking distance to a yamanote line, it's fine. so try to look at the map thru agoda/airbnb etc & look for the ones suited to your budget & accomodation needs (like for how many ppl, got kitchen, laundry etc). you go to tokyo because you want to enjoy so many different places until night time anyway so you just want to have a good rest & then make an early morning move every day. i am staying in akihabara btw.. for no particular reason other than the hotel suit my budget & accomodation needs, & close enough to akihabara station.

wow....akihabara is a very vibrant area. My main purpose is to look for a hotel / area that i can  easily catch a train or bus to narita coz i got an early flight to catch . Anyway, thanks for your info. will start doing my homework soon.  laugh.gif
*
what time is your departure? mine is 9:30am & i plan to take skyliner train from either ueno or nipporo, which is just a few stations from akihabara, arriving narita around 6:30am. if earlier then you gotta take private taxi lor haha

10.20 am. Any reasonable hotel to recommend at akihabara?
*

10:20am should be plenty of time to go to airport. yamanote line starts before 5am. lots of hotel in akihabara. as i suggest, go to agoda/airbnb etc , open the map & look around. also, open google maps & see where the hotel is. I donno what kind of hotel suitable or you. for me, i am looking for family style apartment for 5 pax with kitchen & laundry. so i use airbnb.

as for transport to narita, keisei skyliner is the best & fastest (cheaper than narita express)

Just came back from our 6-day DIY tokyo trip,100% public transport, including excursions to kawaguchiko & nikko. Everything is as planned except a few pts of interest that we simply too tired to go haha.

We managed the infamous peak-hour shinjuku station quite well too. No wrong platform or train encountered 😂

Check in Luggage is automatically transferred or manual?

auto. If you book with the same booking no & same airline, its always auto. But no harm in getting the assurance with them when you check your luggage in at the counter

Not much to do at the airport although the T1 International airport looks quite new. Lots of small restaurants including burger king & enough chairs to rest. Can try & buy vietnamese coffee too. Good thing is that the next departure gate will not be as far although you are likely to be taking the bus to & from the plane.

QUOTE(Tosai @ Nov 1 2025, 07:16 PM)
Hi guys,

Appreciate some feedback on my 2pax itinerary to Tokyo only.

Day 1 - Ginza
Reached Narita in the morning > To Ginza > Most likely lepak around Ginza till dinner time. Not considering to go out from Ginza because we knew we will not have a good night rest during our flight. So, a casual day for us.

Day 2 - Azabudai
Gonna reach teamLab Borderless in the early morning to beat the queue. Less people, nicer photos.
Lunch: Harbs Azabudai (or any other recommended lunch places?)
The National Art Center, Tokyo
Explore Tokyo Station
Hop On Hop Off Tokyo Bus by Skyhop Bus

Day 3 - Disneyland
This is a dilemma. We have not been there before but we are debating whether its worth it and perhaps spend the money and time on other places.

Day 4 - Asakusa/Ueno
Will try the duck noodle recommended by one of the forumer here. Evening still open?

Day 5 - Yokohama

Anything that we must do/try at there?

Day 6 - Kamakura
Enoshima Island
Hokokuji Temple + Bamboo Forest

Any thing we should be aware of in advance in Kamakura?

Day 7 -Ikebukuro
Spend whole day at Sunshine City

Day 8 - Daikanyama / Nakameguro / Ebisu

Day 9 - Odaiba + Haneda
(home)
*
no plan to go akihabara, shibuya, shinjuku, kawaguchiko, nikko like usual tourist spots?
