What's the best/budget flight to Osaka/Tokyo? Was planning to go Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo during Nov..so far I find Eva Air seems to be reasonable.

What kind of daily/weekly pass can be used for all trains in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo which worth the price? Planning maybe 3 days Osaka, 4 days Kyoto, 2 days Fuji and 3 days Tokyo...

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 8 2023, 07:00 PM) No such pass. Wa so no one pass to rule them all? Have to get amazing Kansai pass during my 7 days in Osaka and Kyoto? How much is it? Worth?JR Rail Pass covered Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka and Kyoto but JR train coverage in Osaka , Kyoto and Tokyo are crap, suxk. JR Rail Pass totally useless in Hakone. Kawaguchiko only Limited Express "Fuji Excersion" Best pass for Osaka and Kyoto will be Amazing Kansai Pass but this pass cannot take JR train. Tokyo are fully covered by Metro. 3 day unlimited metro pass will be the best but you can't take JR , Keikyu , Odakyu train. Fuji will be Odakyu Fuji Free Pass. It covered entire Kawaguchiko and Hakone but you only limited to Odakyu. How much is the JR Rail Pass? Worth getting it if I wanna travel from Kyoto to Tokyo? |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 8 2023, 07:11 PM) JR pass not worth it if you just travel one way from Kyoto to Tokyo. JR Rail Pass cost Rm1.4k for 7 days. Please google more on Kansai Amazing Pass. QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Mar 8 2023, 07:28 PM) Depends on your journey… the Japan Rail Nationwide pass is only worth it if you travel many cities in a short time Kansai Amazing Pass is only for 3 days? So that means I have to buy 2 times if I am staying about 7 days in Osaka and Kyoto? Metro can probably cover Tokyo. And bad thing is JR stations are limited in cities E.g. It’s worth it for me to get the 14 days JR pass because I’m doing Tokyo - Nagano - Toyama - Takayama - Osaka - Kyoto - Nara - Hemiji - Tokyo I am planning to touch down Tokyo first..then take train to Kawaguchiko, then bus to Kyoto and finally goes back to Malaysia from Osaka. |

QUOTE(michaelchang @ Mar 8 2023, 11:24 PM) It depends how much you are traveling each day. If at relax pace and just 1-2 places/day. It's much cheaper and convinient to use SUICA/PASMO card (works just like TnG card on LRT/MRT) Tokyo don't have any pass that works on all station? Like rapid KL pass. Hmm.. How much per travel averagely using train at Kyoto and Osaka? The Kansai amazing pass cost around 70 MYR from Klook for 3 days.. 1 day probably will take 4 to 5 trips as we'll visit around? Kyoto mostly uses bus the last time I went. Does the amazing pass works on bus as well?Tokyo metro 1/2/3 days pass are not really worth it unless your hotel are next to subway station as this pass cannot use on JR Yamanote line which is very convenient ( circle line) Think of this metro pass as a special pass in KL that can take unlimited monorail but cannot use on LRT/MRT. Very limited locations and you won't repeatedly take unless your hotel is at Berjaya Times Square. This post has been edited by Duckies: Mar 9 2023, 12:10 AM |

QUOTE(Okina @ Mar 9 2023, 12:38 AM) Osaka Amazing Pass is only for Osaka and only have 1-day and 2-day options. Both covers Osaka subway, tramway, and bus only but the 1-day version gives more choice of lines to use. Ya probably the Kansai Thru Pass cause I remembered last time I go Kyoto I took bus to go around and it's unlimited usage. Are you referring to Kansai Thru Pass instead? https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2357_005.html Both not valid for lines operated by JR though. Japan's rails are operated by different companies. So the passes are company/companies specific. It's like RapidKL pass valid only for Prasarana operated trains and buses. Cannot use for KTM. |

Probably will visit hot places like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara and Roppongi kot.1 day pass covers almost all the train stations. But only worth it if you are travelling A LOT. |

QUOTE(michaelchang @ Mar 10 2023, 08:33 AM) Tokyo trains n subway not expensive, approx 150-170yen/trip. you need to travel 10 trips in a day to justify buying that pass. I max out at 1100+yen/day when I tour around those places you mentioned. Ah I see! Thanks for sharing. I don't think I will travel like 10 trips a day. In that case I guess I will just use Suica. |

Guys, is 1 day pass worth for Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto?
I was looking at Kyoto 1 day pass - I know it covers most of the bus and 2 subways to tourist spot but does it cover both flat and non flat rate area? For osaka, what is the difference between Osaka Amazing Pass and Osaka 1-Day Enjoy Eco Card other than Osaka Amazing Pass covers free admission to attractions? |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jul 11 2023, 05:52 PM) If only Lake Kawaguchiko area then Fujisan Fujigoko Passport. This passport give you u limited bus ride around Lake Kawaguchiko. Do you know how much it'll cost to rent car around Kawaguchiko area? Cause the accommodation we booked is at the furthest west...the Yamadaya Hotel..so given the tight bus schedule I was thinking maybe rent a car for a day or two?Fuji Hakone Pass on will covered everything in Lake Kawaguchiko, Gotemba , Hakone. Limited Express train from Shinjuku to Hakone Yumoto need pay extra seat reservation fees. Also I heard SUICA card is no longer issued due to the shortage of IC chip...but still can get Welcome SUICA card at stations right? This post has been edited by Duckies: Jul 12 2023, 08:15 AM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jul 12 2023, 08:54 AM) Kawaguchiko area no car rental. You had to rent at Tokyo City and drive to Kawaguchiko. Make sure you you get the ETC package. Oh...so the latest bus to the hotel is 15:35..was thinking to put all luggage in the locker at Kawaguchiko station first, tour around and then only go to the hotel cause it's far (I think about 35 minutes travel time).Welcome Suica still avalilable for tourist, but it can't be refund the balance credit inside the card. Yamadaya Hotel checked in time was 3pm. If you reach Kawaguchiko at morning, you can tour around the lake then only go over to hotel. Bus stop just right infront of hotel. Timetable for "B" Blue Line http://bus-en.fujikyu.co.jp/pdf/heritageto...time_202304.pdf 13:35 leaving Kawaguchiko Station & reach Shoji Bus Stop at 14:12 |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jul 13 2023, 11:04 AM) Yes. Make sure you don't top up too much credit inside. It cannot be refund and it only valid for 28 days. By 29th day, the chip inside will self desruction All right. The Kawaguchiko area if I don't purchase the one day sightseeing pass.. I can still pay the bus per trip?erase everything become empty. |
