Hi, going to Japan soon. Wondering if it's better to exchange money in Malaysia at money exchanger or if it's better to withdraw from ATM in Japan. Are the fees in Japan for withdrawal more expensive than money exchange price here?

QUOTE(kienhuia @ Jul 22 2024, 11:53 AM) I use Wise card, which allows me to transfer up to 30,000 yen per month (up to two withdrawal) without any fees - ATM provider will charge 220yen per transaction thou. Exchange rate is competitive (similar to https://www.xe.com/ + acceptable fees (saving from petrol + parking) I'll be withdrawing more than 30000 yen. Wise seems interesting but I don't travel so often that I'll need it honestly.

QUOTE(SkyCaptain @ Nov 7 2025, 07:37 PM) From now till 11th Nov, ANA has special fares to Tokyo and other cities starting from rm1,699 for April - Sept, excluding Golden Week. Ya, just snagged this deal also. Was actually 1676 per ticket. Damn good deal, even cheaper than AA I flew last year.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Nov 11 2025, 06:08 PM) Just to Tokyo? No connecting flight to other city?? Just Tokyo, nowhere else. Went last year 5d4n, didn't even see half of Tokyo. This time want to see every nook and cranny in Tokyo, and maybe a bit of Yokohama also.
