QUOTE(JustForFun @ Oct 29 2024, 09:31 PM) Guys, anyone who traveled to Kawaguchiko recently and still think it's a worthy experience? My experience with kawaguchiko is very mixed, the view around the lake and oishi park is pretty. Public transport is very crowded especially if you take the sightseeing bus to go around. Very little food choices too and prices are quite expensive compared to other places, and all the restaurant almost full house everywhere. I only ate convenience store items when im there I was doing research on my itinerary, and thus far I have seen a lot negative feedback about the place on the amount of crowd and the public infrastructure that is not able to cope with the crowd. When I finalized my itinerary, I found that almost all my activities depend on Mt. Fuji being visible/cloudless to make it worth that hassle traveling there, and since I only have 1 ~ 1.5 days there, I fear that I would actually not see Mt Fuji at all: Day 1 1430 - Baggage drop/early check in @ hotel near Fujisan Stn 1445 - Rent a bicycle and cycle around the lake, visit Oishi park and wait til sunset (around 1630 when Im there) 1745 - Return to Fujisan Stn / Shimoyoshida for dinner 2000 - Onsen Day 2 0700 - Chureito Pagoda 1000 - Honcho Street 1300 - Lunch and depart I am now having second thought and thinking about going to Hakone instead... and from where I am traveling from (Takayama), that's 1 or 1.5 hours shorter journey and a lot easier to get to. Also be aware that some of the restaurant close quite early during dinner time so make sure to check those restaurant opening hours. The oishi park ice cream is delicious though ![]() If not cloudy then the view is very nice ![]() This post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Oct 30 2024, 10:46 PM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Dec 2 2024, 09:17 PM) Feb...expecting flight delay / cancel. Need back up plan. Specially flight delay backup plan. Thanks for the advice, unfortunately i will land in narita hence these are the 3 options i have currently. Last i was thinking of staying at narita hotel for one night first before heading to sapporo, now maybe i will directly go to sapporo after landing in narita.. just scare that custom/immigration will be long line and delay from klia.. also not sure will be too exhausted or not I will take Air Do as main, Peach as backup. Air Do base Hub was Sapporo, they had the best exp pilot to tackle snow landing....Air Do no flight service, only one complimentary drinks (non refill) Spring Japan are sub of China Spring...thier in flight menu or online booking meal very similar to AirAsia. Food are good !! This post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Dec 2 2024, 10:41 PM |

QUOTE(Sitting Duck @ Jan 7 2025, 04:01 PM) Hi All, 1. I prefer digital since can complete everything back at home and faster to go through immi and custom. This only apply to inbound, outbound no need.I'll be visiting Osaka area in Feb 2025. The last time I visited Japan was back in 2018. Please help me with a couple of questions: 1. For immigration and custom clearance (inbound and outbound), is it compulsory to digital immigration and custom clearance via https://services.digital.go.jp/en/visit-japan-web/ ? 2. Tax return, I remember I read somewhere in the past there's also a digital ID that we need to sign up in advance. Is that still the case? 3. Is Japan still a cash society or they are now more cashless? I'm going with family of 3 including myself for 10 days, is 90K yen cash sufficient and the rest can be pay by credit card / TNG / Apple Suica . I also saw a few post about pay pay, do i need to sign up for pay pay as well? 4. I have a physical suica card. I'm planning to link my physical suica card to my iphone wallet. Once the suica card is link to iphone, can I still use the physical suica card ? Thank you in advance for your help. 2. For tax free again can use the visit japan web to register all your info and will give qr code for you too like immi and custom. If not mistaken now tax free will need to be done in airport rather than individual shop starting 2025 cause a lot of c country ppl abuse the system. But im not sure accurate or not. 3. For tokyo most of the place accept cashless like cc, suica. But some places like ramen shop only accept cash so better take some. If need extra cash can just withdraw from 7/11 atm. No need paypay, afaik pay pay need japan phone no to register. 4. You can only choose one physical or on iphone. Once linked, the physical no longer can use. QUOTE(Rexoz @ Jan 13 2025, 09:53 PM) Hello everyone, Since you just travelling alone, i suggest to just stay in business hotel like toyoko / sotetsu inn to save some money. The extra money can spend on food I'm planning to visit Tokyo in March and only that city I suppose, any recommendations of hotel that I can stay that is near the center/downtown or perhaps around Ginza? I have surveyed the hotels in numerous sites and I would like to seek advice whether its better to book hotels directly at their main website or its good to book through agoda/booking.com/expedia? Just afraid of the stories that sometimes(although rare) that bookings through agoda/booking.com can sometimes be invalid due to overbooking and would like to lock in the best as possible. I'll be traveling alone and will be there for 4D/3N Any suggestions and recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you! |

However i hope in feb, it will be lesser (coz i want to bring my waifu there) Don’t think I will go there anytime soon until they find a way to curb the people… walk everywhere also like sardinI follow one of the kyoto instagram, the showcase the live update of kyoto itself. Since its cny, can see the PRC turisss flooded the kyoto. Good for Kyoto economy, bad for thier resident Now I’m otw to Sapporo and saw huge amount of prc travelling there This post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Feb 1 2025, 10:52 AM |

My one week winter Sapporo review
Snow fes are meh, people (mostly tourists) everywhere, roads are super slippery and hard to walk. Almost fall for a few times too. Foods at the event are super duper expensive. IMO see photos on soc med way nicer compared to going to the festival itself. Will probably not go again in the future. A lot of parks are closed during winter time, beer garden is boring but some of the museums are quite interesting. Going from one place to another is super duper far but that is expected from Hokkaido. For me the most disappointing is genghis khan at daikokuya. Way too overhyped. The lamb is almost tasteless and the secret sauce is just salty… both soup curry and butter corn ramen are just ok. Ironically the best food I had while here is mcd black pepper nuggets. Also don’t know why they call kaarage as zangi here lol Saw a lot of bad behaviours prc and hk ppl, have talked to my guesthouse owner and some locals and all of them hate c country ppl Moving on to asahikawa next monday, hopefully the zoo won’t disappoint This post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Feb 9 2025, 06:35 AM |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Feb 7 2025, 04:28 PM) Anyone been to Tokyo Disneyland or Disneysea recently? I joined a facebook group about Tokyo TDL/TDS planning and everyone is tallking about buying the Premier Pass, etc or staying at the partner hotels to skip the lines. One even claimed that they were unable to have a sit down meal because all restaurants were fully booked, as early as 1 month prior! Is it really that crazy now? You can follow this girl on instagram to see the daily amount of ppl lining up at Disneyland and sea: ig (gmptjgwa)This post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Feb 9 2025, 06:40 AM Human Nature liked this post

QUOTE(marfccy @ Feb 9 2025, 07:20 PM) thats pretty much what i think of Sapporo also, mostly international based tourists than local tourists. heh you didnt prepare for those slippery snowy walks with those microspikes on shoes/boots? if this is Tokyo or major city you shouldnt need but Hokkaido man, the snow is intense I did used winter based shoe but still insanely slippery everywhere. The snow has been intense for the past few days and will likely worsen until next Thursday according to my guesthouse owner. I went to otaru today and man can’t even walk straight most of the time, the wind and snow just blow into your face, plus with an insane amount of ppl I went back earlier and still the train was packed like sardine. ill be in Nagano region end of this month, and i already prepared alot of winter walking gear maybe cause ill be closer to mountainside bolded part is as usual from China tourists, but do remember before stigmatising them. japan sees a tonne of PRC tourists so the chances of seeing them being an arse are insanely high and outnumbers the good china tourists Good luck on your trip to nagano Most of the prc tourists that I saw are just bad, leaving trays on the table after eating and not cleaning up, talking loudly everywhere, standing centre on the escalator, kids playing at the food court and so forth. No wonder jap ppl hate them so much. Even as a foreigner I was smh. ![]() This post has been edited by HumanExtinction: Feb 9 2025, 08:05 PM |

QUOTE(kirakun @ Feb 12 2025, 05:06 PM) Second the above during recent trip to tokyo. The look and glare given whenever they noticed u speak mandarin or canto is too obvious and u get that almost everywhere. Not only that. level of treatment given as well. However if your communicate in english or once they know that u are not from prc, the whole shebang goes away immediately. The first day I arrived at guesthouse the owner asked me: china? I said no malaysia, she replied thank god lol Really cannot brain why these prcs are behaving in such a manner, uncivilized and causing hate among the locals almost everywhere around the world. |
