Do I need to fill in anything to enter Japan? Any forms to fill in since we are already one of the visa free countries?

It's been a while I've not entered Japan since pre-covid

May I know if there are any additional requirements (documents) to bring along to enter Japan?

1. Passport
2. If I remember I have to manually write on some immigration card given by the stewardess.

Anything new that I should be aware of?

To confirm, no more Covid-related requirement?

Very easy, just go to visit japan web and fill in all the details for immigration and customs then the website will give you a qr code for each. I just went through the customs 3 days ago and they dont even check the bags. Just scan your qr code at the machine, show it to the customs counter and they just let you go. Same with immigration, register your fingerprints and face at the machine, show your passport at the counter and they will chop your passport. Voila.

Custom counter and immigration counter different?

is it a must to use the website?

i read some reviews saying still can choose to write manually on the arrival card. Is this true?  hmm.gif

Can still fill up the arrival card manually, but they say QR code will expedite the process.

never take scoot b4 but heard a lot of horror stories, like the service is worse than airasia and meal/drink is bloody expensive since they use sgd

I took Scoot before. Easy to connect to a human for booking matters. Service is okay, on par with airasia. It's a no frill airline so didn't expect anything more. Food wise, yes AA is much better. Pilot skill, AA is better too. Landing was a hard bump.

Damn facebook keep showing memories of my trip last now and now itching to go back again. Thinking to bring my parents to Hokkaido next year covering Sapporo/Otaru/Hakodate and maybe to nearby locations. I wonder if this is a good idea considering they are elderly and Hokkaido has lack of public transportation (?) compared to other cities. No specific month yet, if not snowy may consider to rent a car.

Any recommendation for direct flight KUL to CTS?

Might want to avoid winter as elderly can't stand the cold. Plus buses don't run so frequently during the winter.
Rent a car if you have more than 3 pax. Sapporo/Susukino can rely on train network. Any other adventure just rent car. More convenient.

Direct flight to CTS not many. I see AirAsia X fly there but not consistent.
Best is layover at HK or Shenzhen.

Thanks for the input. I will scout around for flight and start from there.

Airasia departure from CTS airport is 9:40 am, so need to be there by 6:40 am. Earlist train is 6 am, arriving at 6:28. What other alternatives available? What do most people do, stay overnight at the airport? Book a hotel nearby on the final night? Thank you

Thanks for the replies. Still unsure whether to go in March where it is still winter or postpone. If go in March will likely confine to just Sapporo, Otaru and Jozankei. Prefer to go in July where can include Furano and Biei for the flower and farms but flight and accommodation is even more expensive. Maybe I am just too late to plan for this year.

Looks like we will postpone Hokkaido to next year or so. Thinking about Japan in 3rd week of June. Internet says it is rainy and low season. I wonder how heavy is the rainy season over there.

Any recommendation for fruit picking and/or factory tour In Tokyo or at nearby cities like Kamakura, Kawaguchi, Mt Takao?

Many thanks

3rd week of June is peak season. Start of Summer. Furano & Biei will be packed like hell. Based on my memory & experience, Hokkaido in June not much of rain.

Nearby Tokyo can fruit picking will be [Karuizawa Garden Farm]. Starwberry Farm at Karuizawa.

Forget to mention going to Tokyo instead. Will try to make this work.

Wife want to visit farm and eat fruits. All is covered in snow in March while to late (read: too expensive laugh.gif) to plan for this year's Furano Biei.

So to appease, aim for Tokyo instead while browsing for cheap flight tickets biggrin.gif

What are the options if departure from Narita at 8:15am means have to arrive by 5:15am? Thinking to stay overnight at airport. Maybe from Disneyland after fireworks take train to the airport and overnight. Hmm
