Just came back from Hirafu/Niseko, only had 4 ski days 17-20 Mar. Really crazy mix of all types of conditions. Had bluebird day with great spring snow at the top of the mountain and extremely slushy and heavy at the base. Had snow & fog day where can barely make out the orange markers/sticks at the side of the piste. Had a day where somehow the entire top was just sugar on ice. Surprisingly the two kids in my group (11 and 6) adapted like champs, meanwhile old man mid-40's me had serious trouble adapting to the slush at base.

Kiddo making good progress at 6 years old i suppose (2nd season) https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWN54WFkeC1/

Sifus, wanna ask, does anyone have experience with doing connecting flights in Japan (Narita) ?

Want to end up in Nagoya, so specifically looking at doing ANA flights NH816 > NH493; international flight to domestic flight.

My question is, does this need to go out collect luggage first then re-checkin again ?

Because Trip.com seems to think so (see screenshot)

Also from this ANA website, seems like that is case, ie: collect luggage and check baggage again.

So, wanna ask if anyone have such experience. 95 minutes is it enough time ? If there is a delay, will ANA hold the domestic flight for me ? Anything else to consider ?

how long between your flights ah ?
is 95 mins enough ?
My research says check in for domestic flights is fast..
The risky part is clearing immigration and waiting for luggage

95 mins is indeed tight if you have to recheck baggage into NH493 domestic flight. May I suggest you consider packing light (carry on only, but maybe during winter it is not easy to manage), try bumping yourself up to the front of the plane (if cost is not a concern) and be prepared to wait for the same domestic flight the next day if you miss your connecting flight.

Oof, good luck to you man. Timing very tight.

Haven't flown into Narita in a while, but it feels like there's usually a big crowd at immigration because several flights arrive around the same time. Perhaps ANA ground staff will help to expedite the immigration process.

Then again, not sure how fast your luggage will come out (ANA can help in this case?). and also pray that your flight won't have a delay lol

Domestic-to-international travel is easier because baggage is checked through to the final destination (i.e., KLIA).

I only encountered a super-long queue at Narita once, but still managed to clear security in time. 2hr gap though

I will have to change from Terminal D to Terminal 3 in Haneda via free shuttle bus. If we have checked in at CTS, do we need to go to the check-in counter again at HND or can directly go to security and gate?
