will only  do tokyo, mount fuji and kamakura .10 days trip so will be easy going one. lol. Coz i read that wise can do cash withdrawal in Japan. Also their currency conversion rate is very attractive.

If you only plan to withdraw small amounts of JPY below rm1,000 to be used the fees are very low but if you withdraw more than during your trip the fees can quickly add up. Based on today's Wise conversion rate JPY1,000 = rm25.62 and the rate at money exchanger JPY1,000 = rm25.55, if you use less than JPY50,056, Wise gives you the better rate, but if you use more than that amount, then exchanging cash at the local money exchanger here will give you better rates.

Never stayed there. There are Shinjuku Washington Hotel Main Building and Shinjuku Washington Hotel Annex Annex that are 12 mins away by foot, located on a more quiet street and are cheaper but unfortunately they come with equally small rooms. These two hotels are equally convenient in terms of airport transfers from both Haneda and Narita airports compared to Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku (buses from airports stop directly at the hotels). However, if you plan on using mostly trains, choose Sunroute Plaza Hotel as they are located nearer to Shinjuku station (less walking from hotel to train station). Another alternative you have is to look for business hotels like APA, MyStays or LiveMax as these will offer rooms slightly cheaper than Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku.

Booked washington hotel initially but later found out that this hotel is haunted. so now looking for alternatives. Looks like sunroute is a good choice for its location. I had also shortlisted Godzilla hotel but had dropped the idea coz i afraid it will get too noisy at night for a good nite rest. lol Apa hotel very small room ler like 12m Square and also pricey.

Between 12m2 and 15m2 the space disparity is not as big as you'd expect, unless there are some family members with mobility issues or you travel with big luggages. Is Shinjuku fixed? You can get slightly bigger hotel rooms if the location is flexible but it might mean you are 20-30 mins from Shinjuku by Yamanote line train.

As i will be traveling with 28" cases so min i need would be 18ms. Also i will be doing day tour to Fujisan and kamakura therefore Shinjuku area seemed to be an ideal location. The limousine bus from airport stop at the hotel is a big plus. I have read about the horror stories of getting around shinjuku station. Yeap.. read about ueno area as well .

no problem...
If you plan go Zao Crater & Yamadera...Your Base should be at Yamagata. Not from Sendai.
Going Matsushima can set Base at Sendai...Half day Trip kaotim....unless you want overnight at Matsushima those expensive onsen ryokan.

Anyone has tried HKexpress to fly to Japan? Care to provide your opinions about HKexpress flight?

I also wonder any issue/extra payment for transiting in HKIA?
