QUOTE(Blofeld @ Oct 20 2020, 10:08 AM)
really? U mean they closed before and open again?

I prefer AirAsia for Japan trip  biggrin.gif
*
airasia japan means it's a separate thing like airasia indon
airasia japan's main business is domestic flight within japan
competing with a lot of other low cost carrier like jetstar, peach airline, vanilla air...etc

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 22 2020, 01:33 PM)
Now all those AAX ticket holders can just wait for the restructuring to get back our flight money... sad sad
*
i don't think they want their money back, they wanna fly there
i think if possible they would rather reschedule

SOS : https://www.scmp.com/news/asia/east-asia/ar...r-entry-ban-106

Japan will lift its entry ban on non-resident foreign nationals from 106 countries including Britain, India and the United States starting on Friday, the government said, as part of procedures to gradually ease Covid-19 restrictions.
The policy change, however, will not drastically change Japan’s pandemic-induced strict border controls, as it will continue to suspend the validity of visas issued before December 2 except for diplomats, spouses of Japanese nationals and permanent residents, among others.
Visas will not be issued, in principle, unless those seeking to enter Japan fall under “exceptional circumstances,” such as visits to those who are seriously ill or for funerals. Foreign tourists remain banned from entering Japan.
Japan looks to ease Covid-19 border rules even as citizens support foreigner ban
Of the 106 subject to the change, announced by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, the list includes Asian countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines and Thailand as well as European countries such as France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Countries no longer subject to the entry ban will also include Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Latin American and African nations such as Brazil, Chile, Morocco and Tunisia.
The latest move comes in line with Japan’s easing on April 1 of its travel warning for the 106 nations because of the pandemic, with Japanese nationals no longer recommended against visiting these areas.
The ministry lowered its advisory from the second-highest Level 3 on its four-point scale to Level 2, under which Japanese citizens are asked to refrain from all non-essential overseas travel.

I see, I guess their govt also have the "Lek lu, Sap kok lu" mindset.

From my understanding the transit traffic to US/Europe via HND/NRT seems to be good due to the fact other market are quite restrictive (eg Hong Kong & Taipei) since they are not so strict about allowing transit pax through.
*
yes, i know someone who just transit at NRT on her way to NYC
i thought at 1st she was going to japan laugh.gif

I find it funny that Airasia says it will start its flight to Tokyo having promo from July 14th, but I can't find any ticket available for August.

I know Japan isn't open to tourist yet but Scoot already started its flight from SG to Tokyo

*Malaysian living in Japan finding flight to come back
*
hard to compare
because most other airlines lands at NRT
AA lands at HND

and if that visa thingy still being delayed...guess AA will delay it as well

where did u get vaccinated that u don't receive a booklet/card?

if you're vaccinated in malaysian, u should receive a card for the 1st 2 dose and a booklet for the 3rd dose
some people 3 dose also a booklet(for late vaccinated ones)

last time RM700-799 return flight, now only 1 way

Prefer spring or autumn

Flights in general gone up 50% - 100%

Gone are the days where japan return tickets can get less than RM700 return

You see airasia also not cheap anymore

Inflation mang, also recession inkambing
*
it's not gone
flight hasn't return to normal yet

in order to return back to normal, all the pre-covid flight has to return 1st
thn went through the boom and slow down
thn price will come back to pre-covid or near it
every country that opens up has to gone through this phase
