Ehhhh.. I can't read japanese. Do you happen to know other websites that people use to book?
Thanks!
Wow can use TNG to make payment in Japan too?

Eki net has English, I booked NEX and Fuji Excursion there, no big issues aside from credit cards, wasn’t sure it was my card or their system but eventually it accepted one of my cards 😅

What is this Fui Excursion that i keep hearing about. For my Mt Fuji trip, I am planning to just book one of the day trips tour from Klook. haha.

Depends on where you are, Japan east or west… both operate different destinations/attractions

This one is the one I booked:

Hi guys,

May I know which method is the best conversion rate option in Japan? Credit card, money changer USD to YEN or Wise?

Hope someone to can give some advice, thanks.
*
I personally find Wise rates better than money changer and credit card

Is Japan still majority cash based or are they moving towards cashless payments like china?

Would like to know as I'm going for two weeks in April with my wife. Last time I went was before COVID, back in 2019

Smaller off main road eateries, temples markets and transport reload via machine use cash, the rest mostly accept cards

I’d personally swap Shirakawago with Kamikochi if you are into nature. Doable from Takayama Nohi bus station

I was considering Kamikochi too, but it’s too far away as I will need to travel to Nagoya right after that.

Do you think renting a car is possible at Takayama just for one day? Pick up car at Takayama in the morning and return at Nagoya at 8pm.
*
Oh sorry, I might have misread your itinerary, I thought you are going to Kyoto after Takayama

If you are using JR pass then don’t waste money on car…

Hey guys, got a question about WISE, should I buy Yen in my wise app already? Or just store up ringgit and then when I use the card let it automatically convert?

Same for when I want to withdraw from the ATM? What’s the best step?
*
Just convert first if the rates are good, automatic conversion will depend on the rates at that time, can be better but can be worse as well

Just put in the card into the atm and input 4 digit pin
The local atm fees will depend on how much you withdraw, it’s ¥110 for ¥10000 and below and ¥220 until ¥30000, something like that… more that ¥30000, wise will start Charging 1.75% or something along those lines

I had some notes in the middle of the blog

Anyone knows how to go to Golden Pavillion from Arashimaya Bamboo Forest? I heard taxi is the way to go as public transport will be too much of a hassle?
*
Bus wasn’t that bad, I travelled with another 5 people last year, one was a kid

But queue is quite long because these 2 places are very touristy

going to Kurobe Alpine Route in mid May.

anybody got any snow/winter shoes to recommend? maybe thinking of walking around up in the snow wall, and worried that it might be slippery if I bring my normal shoes.
*
I wore TNF fast pack last year April, water proof so it’s ok. But the snow is soft and powdery hence not slippery

anything to take note if taking singapore airlines? it will be kl-singapore-nagoya. so if transit in singapore, just go over to the next gate without doing anything else right? sorry 1st time transiting. it was about 1.9k return
*
Once you exit from KUL to SIN, go to the nearest board to check which terminal and what gate you will be boarding, it should be the same as per your connecting flight ticket. If still in doubt, ask for help at info counter
