Delay sometimes inevitable, my airasia flight back from haneda to kl also delay 2 hours more from 12am to 2am. Cancel don't think can happen.

It can be Haneda International Terminal...It also can be Narita Airport Terminal 1.....
If Haneda Terminal 2(Domestic) to International Terminal in 1 hour 20 minute...yes enough. Take Monorail or free transit bus

99% World Custom will do the same. Trust own custom and own regulation. From International to Domestic...you had to pickup luggage and re-check in again at domestic counter...bag will go thru Japan own X-ray to make sure you didn't bring any thing bad stuff into Japan.

From Japan back to KL...they don't give a fxxx....because it not my problem any more.....that why I mention from CTS to KL...bag will direct into next flight. Even you bring drugs from CTS to Kl they also don't give a shit...that will be Malaysia custom problem.

For me I've stayed two nights at Higashi Muroran with Dormy inn cause noboribetsu ryokan and hotel are too expensive. Higashi Muroran can be an easy access to both noboribetsu and toyako (lake toya). I've managed to visit these 2 places in a day.

For me this Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass not worth it. It didnt cover Donan Buses.  BTW, you didnt plan go Otaru, Asahikawa, Biei, Furano, Hakodate....
Might well buy JR Hokkaido Rail Pass. If your trip got more than 2 pax...Rent car are the best option.

mid of may might be no sakura already, this year i go hokkaido on their golden week, full bloom anywhere on sapporo area and southern are(hakodate)
if your hotel at sapporo, hakodate last train back to sapporo around 6pm++, all seat need to book first

just checked sakura info web, this year turn green around may 8th, so mid of may no more sakura, only left green leaf

some website can check sakurastatus, if u can read japanese will help when chasing those sakura season, when season come got ppl will do the sakura status update

Would you be returning to Hokkaido in the future? If yes, why not focus on Sapporo, considering your trip duration and leave the Noboribetsu for the next trip? Sapporo is the 5th largest Japanese city and the largest northern city. It gets dark by 7pm during May so unless you are prepared to start your day trips very early and return to Sapporo earlier, it might be challenging to fully enjoy the sights and experiences without feeling a bit rushed. Prioritising Sapporo allows for a more relaxed pace : )

Since you plan to visit Jigpkudani Valley, might I interest you in the nearby Oyunuma Pond and Foot Bath? If you don't make it to the Foot Bath, you might come across other public foot baths too, so it's not a must see. Also consider visiting Noboribetsu Bear Park (entrance fee ¥3,000 comes with a return ropeway ticket) but if you're driving there there is another ¥500 parking fee (applicable at both the Bear Park Parking Lot and Jigokudani Parking Lot). There are activities on a daily basis at the Bear Park (duck race, bear activities that are planned from 10.00am-3.30pm except from 12.00pm-1.00pm).
