If I have some tax-free items and the shop already sealed in plastic bag, can I put them in checked-in luggage? Do we need to show the customs officer at Haneda Airport before checking-in? If yes, where is the custom counter located at?
Second question, some of those tax-free items are not sealed (non consumable). Can those items be checked in too? Many thanks |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jul 27 2025, 10:15 PM) Japan Custom don't care about this because you are away. They don't give any fxxx. This is Malaysia Custom Job.....This is the Time Malaysia Custom charge you import duty tax. So means better to put as hand luggage. Then just before boarding, take out from plastic and throw away price tag. Can work? |

Previously when my departure was at Narita, I booked the last night nearby the airport. Then can go to Naritasan Temple and Omotesando too. Along the keisei line if not mistaken.

Any comment on going to Hokkaido middle of May?
Just booked ANA for KUL - NRT - CTS (layover 2 hr 25 min) CTS - HND - KUL (layover 1 hr 20 min Terminal 2 to 0) Is the checked baggage automatically transferred? Is 1 hr 20 mins suffiicient for transfer from Terminal 2 to 0 at Haneda? This post has been edited by Human Nature: Oct 4 2025, 03:09 PM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Oct 4 2025, 04:53 PM) There are no Terminal 0 in Haneda. "0" means still unknow yet. Too far ahead...Airlines still no yet arrange in system. No wonder, search for terminal 0 comes out nothing. What about the checked luggage, usually auto transferred? It can be Haneda International Terminal...It also can be Narita Airport Terminal 1..... If Haneda Terminal 2(Domestic) to International Terminal in 1 hour 20 minute...yes enough. Take Monorail or free transit bus |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Oct 4 2025, 10:14 PM) 99% World Custom will do the same. Trust own custom and own regulation. From International to Domestic...you had to pickup luggage and re-check in again at domestic counter...bag will go thru Japan own X-ray to make sure you didn't bring any thing bad stuff into Japan. Haha make sense. From Japan back to KL...they don't give a fxxx....because it not my problem any more.....that why I mention from CTS to KL...bag will direct into next flight. Even you bring drugs from CTS to Kl they also don't give a shit...that will be Malaysia custom problem. |

It is recommended to stay one night at Noboribetsu (self plan with Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass) or take day tour with Klook?

QUOTE(HumanExtinction @ Oct 9 2025, 01:52 AM) For me I've stayed two nights at Higashi Muroran with Dormy inn cause noboribetsu ryokan and hotel are too expensive. Higashi Muroran can be an easy access to both noboribetsu and toyako (lake toya). I've managed to visit these 2 places in a day. That is a good tips. Did you self drive or rely on public transportation? If public transportation, did you use the Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass too? This post has been edited by Human Nature: Oct 9 2025, 08:30 AM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Oct 9 2025, 10:16 AM) For me this Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass not worth it. It didnt cover Donan Buses. BTW, you didnt plan go Otaru, Asahikawa, Biei, Furano, Hakodate.... Ya, I am still hesitating about this Sapporo-Noboribetsu Area Pass. The only advantage I can see so far is it covers up to Noboribetsu. Wanted to go Hakodate (maybe can see ending of sakura) but train took about 4 hours. Going in middle May so no lavendar hence skipping Furano/Biei too. Just 2 pax. This is my itinerary for now. Is Jozankei worth going?Might well buy JR Hokkaido Rail Pass. If your trip got more than 2 pax...Rent car are the best option. Day 0 - Arrive 7:35 PM, Sapporo Day 1 - Sapporo Day 2 - Otaru daytrip Day 3 - Jozankei daytrip Day 4 - Noboribetsu (still thinking daytrip or overnight) Day 5 - Depart 8:30 PM |

QUOTE(SkyCaptain @ Oct 9 2025, 06:00 PM) Would you be returning to Hokkaido in the future? If yes, why not focus on Sapporo, considering your trip duration and leave the Noboribetsu for the next trip? Sapporo is the 5th largest Japanese city and the largest northern city. It gets dark by 7pm during May so unless you are prepared to start your day trips very early and return to Sapporo earlier, it might be challenging to fully enjoy the sights and experiences without feeling a bit rushed. Prioritising Sapporo allows for a more relaxed pace : ) I would love to return for winter or lavender one day. Noboribetsu is non-negotiable as partner wants to visit the Jigokudani Valley (no idea why lol). Likely will skip Jozankei, so am looking for alternative onsen around sapporo, otaru, noboribetsu. |

QUOTE(SkyCaptain @ Oct 10 2025, 08:59 AM) Since you plan to visit Jigpkudani Valley, might I interest you in the nearby Oyunuma Pond and Foot Bath? If you don't make it to the Foot Bath, you might come across other public foot baths too, so it's not a must see. Also consider visiting Noboribetsu Bear Park (entrance fee ¥3,000 comes with a return ropeway ticket) but if you're driving there there is another ¥500 parking fee (applicable at both the Bear Park Parking Lot and Jigokudani Parking Lot). There are activities on a daily basis at the Bear Park (duck race, bear activities that are planned from 10.00am-3.30pm except from 12.00pm-1.00pm). Thanks, I will check the pond and foot bath. Not so keen into the beer park atm. For now will plan on making the connections via public transport. |
