Try Rojak Cendol Klang Valley Cafe @ Bandar Puteri Puchong.

The rojak ( pasembur / Indian rojak) = 9/10
The cendol = 6/10

I tried the rojak at "Rojak Siti & Cendol" where the stall in the form of a small truck was set up in front of SMK Menjalara in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong. The rojak is not too bad and quite good. However, the cendol is not good. At one point when I ordered the rojak (takeaway), the guy asked me if I wanted to try the cendol. I just came for the rojak, but since the guy asked I ordered one packet of cendol.

The cendol was a disappointment. It didn't have the santan taste at all, tasted like water. The gula melaka also tasted very mild as if it's diluted.

If you ask me to rate,
Rojak : 7.5 or 8/10
Cendol : 2/10 (I didn't finish the whole packet and threw some away)

I was trying to look for this location 2 weeks ago, unfortunately couldn't find it.The Waze directed me to the Catholic Church near the cross juntion toward the Jinjang's night market. Going to locate it again soon for the pasembur.

The cendol assesment for me personally need to pass the followings :-

1. The shaved ice must be smooth.
2. The palm sugar must be thicked enough & not diluted.
3. The coconut milk mixture must be correct, cannot be too diluted or oily. Some heated the coconut milk until oily, is a no no.
4. The cendol must be squishy but still maintained the shape.
5. The red bean must use big red bean not the small red bean , the red beans need to maintain the wholeness apperance ( masih sebiji-biji ), when bite cannot be hard or powdery (under cooked), must be soft & creamy.

The one that fits the above closely so far

1. Penang Road Teo Chew Cendol - the red bean my not rank the best.
2. Cendul Wisma Ganda @ Perak - the red bean is the best so far I have tasted.
3. Little Yum Yum @ Kota Damansara - got all the correct mixture correct but I only compained that they are slightly stingy on the amount of the palm sugar.

The other outlets which I have tried

4. James Cendul @ Perak - above average but the coconut milk too oily , the red bean cannot maintain the wholeness appearance- it was a turn off for me.
5. Cendul Klang - above the average
6. Most of the cendul @ Melaka Nyoya / Peranakan ( Nancy, Donald, Amy, etc) were good / above the average with the coconut milk , shaved ice & palm sugar except the red beans & the cendol jelly itself. The serving portion was small & pricey in my opinion.

Note, the shop no longer located at the Happy Mansion.

1. The shaved ice must be smooth - 10/10
2. The palm sugar must be thicked enough & not diluted - 10/10
3. The coconut milk mixture must be correct, cannot be too diluted or oily - 10/10
4. The cendol must be squishy but still maintained the shape - 9/10
5. The red bean must use big red bean not the small red bean , the red beans need to maintain the wholeness apperance ( masih sebiji-biji ) - 7/10

Could be one of the best around Klang Valley so far apart from Little Yum Yum @ KD.

While the memory of the taste still fresh for Kwong Wah's cendol, I decided to pay a visit to Yum Yum @ Kota Damansara for their cendol.

The shop already relocated to same row with Lan Je Steam Fish

5. The red bean must use big red bean not the small red bean , the red beans need to maintain the wholeness apperance ( masih sebiji-biji ) - 8/10. They used to use big red bean.

I can only concluded that, their quality of the cendol may not be the same like few years back especially for santan & red bean ingredients.

One of the best in Ampang. I've taste the best in Melaka. But for KL, this one is quite good. And another one infront of Masjid Al Azim, Pandan Indah. Cendol on Lori, also the best
Still can get while PKP nowdays for this Taman Kosas

I was nearby KL today, hence decided to drop by for the Taman Kosas. I ordered 1 cendol biasa & rojak biasa.

The cendol biasa. I scoped left & right, something missing - how come no red beans ?!. Waved my hand to makcik, "Makcik, kenapa tak ada kacang punya ?". Makcik replied "Ohh, you mau ada kacang punya, cakap la cendol kacang, bukannya cendol biasa". Now only I know the order must state the red beans else you won't be given the red beans.

After added with red beans.

Tried the SS15 Rojak at the USJ 10 Taipan Branch ( near to Conlay Tower ).

RM 4.50 per serving. The taste rating I'll rate at 7.5/10. The rojak pale in comparison compare to Tmn Kosas & Bandar Puteri. Got a very mild sour taste of the gravy which I personally don't think it is going well with the fritters.

Priced at RM 6.90/ bowl

1. The shaved ice must be smooth - 7/10
2. The palm sugar must be thicked enough & not diluted - 6/10 ( the fragrant was not there )
3. The coconut milk mixture must be correct, cannot be too diluted or oily - 6/10 ( they are using pre-packed coconut milk)
4. The cendol must be squishy but still maintained the shape - 8/10
5. The red bean must use big red bean not the small red bean , the red beans need to maintain the wholeness appearance ( masih sebiji-biji ) - 7/10. They were serving big red bean but the flavor not there.

Taman Kosas red bean the best so far.

Ordered a plate of Rojak & 1 bowl of cendol.

Close up Rojak. RM 5/ plate.

Close up cendol. RM 2.50/bowl ( no complaint)

My personal review as follows

1. The shaved ice must be smooth - 9/10
2. The palm sugar must be thicked enough & not diluted - 8/10
3. The coconut milk mixture must be correct, cannot be too diluted or oily - 8.5/10
4. The cendol must be squishy but still maintained the shape - 8/10
5. The red bean must use big red bean not the small red bean , the red beans need to maintain the wholeness appearance ( masih sebiji-biji ) - 6/10. They served small red beans & some already hancur…but no complaint for the price they are selling. Still a good deal.

The cendol still tasted above average.

Rojak = 6.5/10. Tmn Kosas & Bandar Puteri Puchong tasted way better.

Thanks for sharing folks! Long time no kena cendol! wow looking at some the prices, didnt realize cendol had fetch 6-8 ringgit! wow.

Nice to see there are still some 2.50 ones, used to cost 50cents during school days! hahaha

any recommendation around subang area?

Looks like standard cendol ingredient nowadays, need to tambah and not standard, like kacang, jelly, and the bog red jelly and small round jelly as well. sorry forgot those names. Thats how it was during my school days.
*
Seriously 50 cents? You must be over 40 y.o. My time, it was around 80 cents until it became RM3.50 from the same stall.

Behind Wisma Conlay, SS15 Cendol & Rojak.

The blog was 8 years ago. I doubt the price will be the same.

Sitiawan one selling RM 3.50 as per my last visit
Banting Ibrahim Cendol selling at RM 2.00 this year visit ( below average).

Kamaruddin Cendol didn't appear in my list when I visited Banting. Maybe will give it a try next round.

This rojak sold by the Indian operator in the Chinese Kopitiam was good. Restoran 626 @ Batu 18, Rawang. Can rival Tmn Kosas & Bandar Puteri Puchong one.

Auntie's Ling Nyonya Cendol @ Medan Selera Wawasan SS3.

This cendol by far the best (rated No.1 by me) at Klang Valley I have ever tried. It was such a rare occasion that it can displaced all the previous ranking.

This was my evaluation :-

1. The shaved ice must be smooth - 10/10
2. The palm sugar must be thicked enough & not diluted - 10/10
3. The coconut milk mixture must be correct, cannot be too diluted or oily - 10/10

5. The red bean must use big red bean not the small red bean , the red beans need to maintain the wholeness appearance ( masih sebiji-biji ) - 0/10. ranting.gif There was no red bean.

6) The portion was almost 1/2 the serving size you can get nationwide but it was selling at RM 5 / bowl. 0/10

Personally felt it was a tourist trap & not worth the time, you can easily get similar quality of cendol from Klang Valley at places like Makan Time & Kwong Wah at more value price with equivalent / better quality.
