Hi, would like to get your opinion on Toyo Tires for CX-5. Anyone with experience on Toyo SUV tires? How is their quality vs value for money?

Toyo is one of the cheapest / affordable SUV tyres you can get.
They are quite ok. |

Toyo is a decent choice. Had a set of Open Country A20's. They were fine in all category except the tread life. I bought them because of the nice price I got from 4wheelonline. If you are willing to spend more money, then consider Michelin instead.

Btw, can you provide more comment on the thread life? How long it lasted for you?Which model of the Michelin do you recommend? How is it better than Toyo? |

In general, Toyo is never really good compared to top brands like Michelin, Goodyear, Continental etc., but if you can get them at just 60-75% the price of those top brands then it's a decent buy.

As far as i read those review, Toyo Protex life span sux. So if you want to calculate by price/KM, maybe you can choose any other brand. Be it more expensive, but long run you save more.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Mar 26 2020, 06:04 PM) You mean walk-in to those tire shop and ask? Or, some tire shops in Klang?I see in Lazada, the listed price is also above RM400. https://www.lazada.com.my/products/michelin...1850546514.html? Of course, not taking it bulat-bulat. But just as a yard stick for estimating. |

QUOTE(leehernandez @ Mar 30 2020, 12:51 PM) for cx5,michelin usually is above rm 400,as far as i know cheapest rm 420 and available model is the primacy suv.not have primacy 4.for toyo u can get below rm 400 yup.. got around that price for stock rim tyre size.. before using pirelli scorpion verde all season, michelin better eventho pirelli is rm500+ per piece.. the reason is after almost 2 years, the tyre start to have a lot of small crack or peel off rubber.. |

Having lots of crack and peel off rubber. Is that a sign of a below par tyre?

I am one of the current pirelli scorpion verde user, but did not encounter crack or peel off. Already near 2 years and travel a lot. I believe is either batch issue or did not travel much to scrap the harden outer layer off. I travel yearly around 30,000km, now near 50,000km and the tires still got around 40~50% tread life. Pirelli scorpion verde if not mistaken got treadwear rating of 600 and might be true on the longer lasting tread. |

I've toyo tyres on my other car (B-segment) and I must say the tyre is good. Not sure how their SUV tyres fare. Hence, this thread.
