iridescent white is metallic, like silver-ish. hard for me to explain. best comparison, is to have a I.white neo parked next to a solid white myvi or integra.

QUOTE(dstl1128 @ Aug 15 2007, 01:07 PM) So the aftermarkets have business to do. Nice car, but why they put a lighter color on the bottom part of the door panel? That part should put on some darker color that is more 'resistant' to dirt. AFAIK. the large snorkel was the original snorkel for all Gen2. for some funny reason, they down sized it. you could be right though, about creating a supporting industry since you mentioned it, yeah, color coordination is slightly "off" i wonder what their interior design department have to say about that

QUOTE(hypermount @ Aug 15 2007, 01:29 PM) at least better than "some" cars which don't have any! didn't realise there's difference between old gen.2 snorkel and neo. Like the straight piping design. rather impossible to run a car without air intake, right? the neo uses back almost 100% of the intake system from the Gen2 except for the snorkel tip, where the neo's snorkel is like the current gen2 only much larger and doesn't slope downwards. the old gen2 snorkel (currently referred as large snorkel by various resellers) is about the twice size the current gen2 snorkel, thus the increase of 1HP

QUOTE(hypermount @ Aug 15 2007, 02:17 PM) What I meant "other" cars out there don't have snorkel to scoop cool air from outside ..the end of the intake ram or pipe or whatever you call is inside the engine bay (think of m and v) - even campro's intake design is way better than my Savvy's - less restrictive - I doubt the size of the snorkel does make a difference in HP - maybe it's the diameter of the pipe...well bigger pipe is no better also - engine can't breathe easily - like it's harder for our lungs to suck thru fatter straw than just about right sized straw. ohhh, THAT car i didn't have the chance to take a peak into a stock standard "one" though. only a heavily modified engine bay done by brothers. with open pod filter and CAI.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 15 2007, 04:13 PM) Which will then kill the Persona??? If i'm buying a sedan, i think rather wait for the Campro with VIM/CPS. Current Campro FC is not very encouraging. kill the persona? well, the new waja + CPS stand a better chance killing it's new brother. as for the Gen2 + CPS, that one maybe for small family man who likes spirited driving. IMHO, the waja's QC is still questionable, even for the new face lifted version. don't know when's the launch date. everything seems to be top secret This post has been edited by Rusty Nail: Aug 15 2007, 04:19 PM

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 15 2007, 04:28 PM) I thought all Proton cars QC are questionable...even the Savvy TUV thingy is probably TUV no more after the Germans left... ...i don't want to be reminded of it.....gotta check my Savvy thoroughly when taking the car... Between Waja and Gen2, i don't really see a lot of space difference. Is the Persona same size with Gen-2 or Waja??(interms of spaciousness). TUV are just standards (like ISO). and standards can be copied. it's enforcing the standards that seems what lacking in the local scene. especially QC. btw, the TUV certificate have to be renewed every 2 years. and isn't the savvy already 2 years old? IMHO, the Waja is more spacious then the Gen2, in both boot space and rear passenger leg room. so in terms of space, i'd say that the Waja should have the same amount of space with the Persona. I'm just gessing based on pictures in paultan and my previous experience with waja and gen2. have yet to view the Persona in detail, though.

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Aug 16 2007, 11:31 AM) The only thing i found its similiar is the steering and the speedometer. Sharing similar components is a good thing just to save cost. Dont u think its more costly for the persona to have a different interior? they should've used the neo's steering wheel. way better then the one in the persona. that's my only rant. otherwise, good a car if i have a family.

QUOTE(mucxha @ Aug 16 2007, 11:42 AM) later ppl wont buy neo for it's beauty interior... neo will still have a lower sales figure compared to sedan. thanks to the "2 doors low resale value" mentality.

QUOTE(ymjay @ Aug 17 2007, 02:20 PM) because when one talks about Proton...its natural to talk about politics, economy, monopoly , oligopoly, taxation, inflation, shares etc..etc its really quite educational ... well, in malaysia, politics, economy, monopoly , oligopoly, taxation, inflation, shares are all interlinked together especially government protected companies.

I finally went to take a look at the Persona yesterday at a PE sales office off Jalan Kepong since i'm very familiar with a salesman there.
below is my personal opinion which doesn't reflect the majority taste. if my points is somewhat similar, then it's purely co-incidental.
The Good 1) MUCH roomier for rear passenger. ample head space and leg space. 2) Massive trunk space, bigger then waja. 3) Boot abosrber thingy which ease opening and closing of boot. no longer have to slam the boot shut with force. 4) Lots of sound proofing material in the boot, should be a quiet ride (haven't test drive yet though) 5) For performance freaks, the rear strut bar mounting point is easily accessable where the sound proof piece covering it, can be removed since it's stuck on with velcro. no such luxury was found in the neo and those who want to install rear struts have to have their rear pannel removed or have a hole cut into them. 6) Comfortable driver seats, although not as bucket as the neo. 7) Door closes with a solid thud, although the door is very light in feeling, unlike the heavy doors of neo. 8) Really affordable price tag. at RM49 800 (M-line manual), it's only RM1300 more then my Neo at introduction price. If the neo and Persona launched at the same time, i would've got the persona instead.
The Bad 1) Engine bay setup 100% identical to Gen2 where the battery is located at the back of the front passenger headlamps, leaving little room for intake mods. 2) I find the rear passenger seats a little too upright. if it's reclined further could be more comfortable.
The Ugly 1) UGLY steering wheel! looks really cheap, feels really cheap. They should've used the neo steering wheel instead. 2) They could've done better with the interior design (especially color scheme). I prefer the neo's interior design the best.

well, in the past, Gen2 performance kakis (Gen2club) did complaint about the battery location.
such "problem" was rectified in the Neo. and seeing that persona is launched one year after the neo, they should've taken some good stuff from the neo and added it into the persona, like how they arrange things in the engine bay. the engine bay of the persona is spacious, sadly, they could've done better in locating the components in a less cluttered manner.

the neo's engine bay is slightly smaller then the persona, which is why i'm surprise why they did the persona engine bay that way well, CPS/VIM would be nice maybe in the face lifted version in another year to come.
