Had a chat with one of the dealers earlier today, to my disappointment there wont be much difference in terms of the engine or the styling compared with the Gen2. According to th guy there, the engine is no difference from the current Gen 2 models and they have only made some minor tweaks to the gear box. About the interior, same story, just a bit of tweaks here and there. meaning it will still look like your old Gen2. Also had a chance to peak through the box located outside Cineleisure.

In my personal opinion I feel that Proton wants to seek solitude from their mistakes made in the Gen 2, as most of Gen 2 drives would know there is a pile load of problems that pop up in a matter of days from getting the car back dealer. For now im just gonna wait for next week and have myself a test drive. Here are some shots of the car.

Tomorrow? are you sure about the launch date. According to the proton edar fellow that i spoke to he said by 15 August and that it will be available for viewings at all dealers nationwide on the same day.

And one thing I don't understand why do people book a car that they have even seen before. Like you all know the car was open for booking a few weeks back. I mean wouldn't you want to test drive the care before making a booking or even think to book the car.

Unfortunately there is no change to the gear box, it is still the same as the Gen 2. However the engine has a new TCU(transmission Control Unit) to help boost some acceleration into the car. Im sure most Gen 2 owners would understand why the Campro needs the boost. Also another factor probably most people would overlook is the catalytic converter, which you can see in the picture, it looks very well built. The Proton people said that it was made to European specification for cleaner engine emission, this is probably a sign that they will be exporting the Persona to the EU in the future.

Today I managed to take a peak at the car in a near Proton Edar, unfortunately I was unable to get a test drive. However the proton people shined some light when they promised to get a test car for as soon as possible; hopefully by next week. I hope to see weather the new suspension system developed by Lotus is up to par. Anyway I wrote a review on the car with pictures and a video, check it out for more details on the car. ------>Proton Persona Review

well perhaps the Savvy and Neo is a better can in some views. But the core factor for the Persona is to replace the Wira. Both the Savvy and Neo are not in that category.
