QUOTE if u drive a saga/an iswara when you're in 2K-3K RPM range you can feel the car is moving.but with campro engine,it feel a bit sluggish and tend to make the car feel heavier to the driver when in low rev.if am not mistaken the TCU will improve a bit the sluggishness of the campro engine (auto only).it is not just campro, even an alfa romeo boxer engine felt sluggish when it is in low rev. Ohh..so u mean, even noob also will notice the slight inefficient of torque there huh. Anyway, i read somewhere before, somebody mention that by changing doono what 4-2-1 extracter and some other things will solve some low torque of campro. Is it true? if is true, can somebody share the modification needed? i think it will help other campro user.

QUOTE(nonadoes @ Aug 16 2007, 11:10 AM) hey..just asking, since everyone here mention that the campro engine dont have enough power in the low rev. i mean for car noob/ race enthusiast ppl, will we notice the difference? i'm drivng an iswara sedan, how does it compare with both engine performance in the low rev? is it noticable? or u need to be a real car enthusiast to notice it? Yep...people who used to drive a Kancil/Viva won't notice anything...LOL. btw, i want to add...I hate the name PERSONA. Stupid name. Reminds me of the Playstation RPG series "Persona" (great game though). Should have name it Gen 2.5 and have Bruce Willis as car ambassador...sure can sell....LOL.

things r really starting 2 look good 4 proton.. this persona looks impressive 2 me, lots of kit, reasonable quality for a very reasonable price i havent seen it yet, i think i wanna drop by proton edar showroom this weekend, n hopefully i could get a test drive of a 1.6 auto.. coz they said the auto in the previous gen2 was really terrible, so wanna test how much has improved.. everythin looks ok.. i like the interior n i really like the instrumental panel the only thing is, i wish they have a better engine n used a different design steering 2 replace that hideous gen2 ones.. n although it sounds stupid, i like the name too persona may sound stupid, but it'll be ok 4 overseas market.. at least the foreigners can mention it properly

well im kinda surprise with some review, which is good. i tot its gonna be just a stretch gen2, but proton totally rework the back to much more bigger space! , if only they redesign the back lamp tho.. it'll be nice, at least more originality from the current gen2s. i kinda like where the proton heading this time round, nice teaser ads and not perfect but overall good end product. me talking about looks only tho..

QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Aug 16 2007, 10:56 AM) I believe from the general public who doesn't think much about proton, this type of changes won't really help proton boost up their sales, besides I was hoping was a significant change in terms of engine type, body shape and even the interior still some similiar Gen-2 look and feel. Forget it, If they can't come out something more drastic than persona, they deserve to failed, bankrupt and slaughtered by other car make. QUOTE(bruce07 @ Aug 16 2007, 11:25 AM) its an additional boot space n dats a "NEW" CAR!!!! @_@... the interior looks the same 2 me... U guys must be either blind or blindly bashing. Dont u see there difference on the interior of the persona? 1st, the saber sword handbrake is removed, so as the colors of the trim which is more acceptable. The power window buttons are on the driver's side and the seats has been changed to a more practical seats. The rear seats is still acceptable as long there is clearance for the head so the head wont hit the roof. The only thing i found its similiar is the steering and the speedometer. Sharing similar components is a good thing just to save cost. Dont u think its more costly for the persona to have a different interior?

QUOTE People, normal la. Pay 50k expect to have 100k of quality. Pay for sedan, expect spacious as van. Pay for 1.6, expect to get a 1.0 fc. Pay for 1.6L, but get 2.0L FC and 1.5L power. That's why people complain. You have to compare with HR16DE or 3ZZFE or even 4AFE. This post has been edited by dstl1128: Aug 16 2007, 12:02 PM

So that is what the difference between Gen2 and this new model beside it is a sedan and difference grill? Proton should also change the design of the bumper, front and rear lamp together. Overall the change is not enough to named the Persona as a new model, just a joke. Still the price tag is quite attractive. Just my 2 cent. This post has been edited by phonar: Aug 16 2007, 12:56 PM

Just view it during lunch time, both should be the M-line, one pearl white another grey. Interior feels cheap, just like my feel in Viva but in black color and more spacious.
Rear: height is good; width is so-so Waja is better here; leg room is very good.
Front: normal. Steering abit on the cheap side and, ugly.
Door: feels cheap and empty. Very hard to close and cheap to open. Neo, Savvy and MyVi have better doors.
Exterior: As handsome as Gen2.
Verdict: A car is just a car, nothing special. For a local comparison, Savvy, MyVi and Waja interior are better. Boot space is between Vios & City. Sedan for that price is a good buy. But if you are looking for luxurious feel, seek elsewhere as there is none here.
:sigh: 'was hoping it could be better in terms of luxury.
