I don't think you need to increase your vMCH at all. My P35-DS3 can go up to a bus speed of 480mhz without any increase in vMCH or vFSB.... Can't go any higher probably due to my CPU FSB wall.....  sad.gif

does that only apply to giga's board? mine would definately need some increment to aid stability...

my results: 427 x 9 @ 3843 MHz. vcore=1.465v bios, vdimm=2.10v. should be able to fine tune it a little bit more and use as 24/7, hopefully...

suicidal run: 463 x 9 @ 4167 MHz. vcore=1.625v bios, vdimm=2.30v...wouldn't dare to go any higher...and of course not prime/orthos stable, just in case you ask... whistling.gif

guys...u all using E6850 until so syok,so easy to oc,what's the vcore that needed in order to go beyond 4ghz?

and u guys think P5K Deluxe is a good mobo compared to P35 DQ6?
*
waah...is it not your qx6700 more powerful? no need e6850 la...actually mine was relatively easy to hit 3.8ghz with around 1.45-1.50 vcore stable. but to hit 4ghz i need nearly 1.58-1.60 vcore to get it stable but thats way too much (too hot! shakehead.gif ) for me and my air cooling setup just wouldn't do. if you are on water i believe it will be much more desireable. thumbup.gif

p5k dlx and p35 dq6 should perform fairly similar i guess...all p35 i've seen so far should be able to do 480fsb so it comes down to the features the mobo has to offer. wait for dfi's p35 to come out la... thumbup.gif

its the C1E functioning...it will lower your setting to save energy during idle. it will jump back to the bios setting when the CPU is loaded. search around in your bios to disable this function.

my e6850 is also the L720A batch. can only get stable at 4ghz with somewhere 1.5625vcore +- on air and its very hot indeed, somewhere around the 65C mark at full load...

thast why i drop to 3.75ghz for 24/7 using 1.4125vcore that runs much cooler now. observing quite a gap for vcore between 3.8ghz and 4ghz.

or is it because of the 1T command rate?

probably need to bump up some vcore, 1.45v maybe? for me, i would drop the memory ratio down to 1:1 first to see if it can boot up sucessfully by further raising the FSB...

try to wire up a fan to blow at your NB and see if it helps. most probably bad airflow in your case? those factory heatpipes fitted in newer mobo should generally be enough even for your current oc settings, of course with decent airflow that is...
