maranello55, you can just try bit by bit. Normally you can already OC by adding some FSB without having to increase the voltages.
*
ive tried the built-in MARS Instant OC...up to 20% which brings my core speed up to 2.65 GHz....Core temp hovering around 50-52...for both core...

I dunno much about OC-ing but logically what i want to achieve is rock solid stability, cool, higher clock without compromising much of the proc lifespan.

Possible? blush.gif

Or a simple solution to that is just to upgrade laugh.gif

try to up your Processor's FSB and overclock your ram...
make it a 1:1 ratio.... FSB MHz same as RAM MHz
it should be no problem...
and to up your FSB, please do it slowly....
increase 2 to 3 each try until your computer can't boot
then restore the highest FSB you has reached...
do the same thing to your RAM as well... try to keep the FSB and RAM running at the same frequency (MHz)
tune down your FSB to suit your RAM Mhz

Here's my update OC results,
hehe, mine a gem proc few days ago with relatively cheap price tongue.gif

cschun86 : Intel C2D E6750 (G0 stepping) : 3.7Ghz @ 1.392V (full load) : Gigabyte P35-DS3 rev 1.0 : Gskill PC8000 DDR2 1000mhz 4Gb Kit : 926mhz , 5-5-5-10@ 2.1V : Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme & Thermalright HR-05 SLI/IFX

1st pic is the OC result stable at 3.7ghz,
2nd pic is super pi result at 3.8ghz which is not tat stable,
no time to tweak it to make it stable,

Followed kmarc OC guide....very nice...

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/623648

Now im running a stable 3.0GHz....temp under Prime95 didnt exceed 65c as in 30 minutes stress test, as per recommended by kmarc. I ran 3.2GHz but temp soaring up to 68-70c....

Im on intel factory HSF so abit hesitant to go higher.

Going to leave the machine to do 6 hours stability test.
