Hi. May I ask, has anyone bought a logitech folio for the ipad pro 11?

I've read through all 79 pages, what I've known is that some people used the k380, many more on the magic keyboard, but none so far on the logitech folio (for this model)

If there is, I would like to have some advice about it? I feel like the MK, and the Apple made folio case does not suit my taste as its just too exposed (does not provide adequate protection).

Thanks for any response in advance.

Depends on your usage and budget?

MK certainly is good but the price justification i really cannot accept

Combo of Logitech K380 and Logitech mouse such as M585/590 can be obtained less than RM150 from shopee biggrin.gif
Then find a casing with fold up stand function and ta-da, u have one ipad pro working station at home already.

But outdoor wise, MK is more preferable as u no need bring extra gadget in the bag, one hand done.

Pros and cons i must say.
Online order is faster than physical store.
*
The more i look at it, the more i wanted a logitech.

Then again, its not available, and from videos i've watched, it is implied that a smoother workflow can be done by having a keyboard that has touchpad. Less interruption and more to "lets get things done"

Is there a logitech folio keyboard for the iPad Pro?
*
Yes there is, but a quick check on Logitech Malaysia Lazada and Shopee says they're unavailable, or sold out.

and now i'm an owner of one (3 weeks delivery, not sure from god knows where).

Ya my bad, I just remembered that there was the Logitech keyboard and a friend of mine is using it for his iPad Pro.

My mind was filled with the Brydge Pro +, the Smart Folio Keyboard and the MK of late.
*
I'm having the same dillema, but the Brydge Pro + is actually more expensive than the Apple folio keyboard for some reason (maybe I checked the wrong place, since I went to their site straight)

But if there's anything, the keyboard should have a trackpad. No compromises there for me.

Too many bad reviews about the Brydge Pro + keyboard for me to be honest

But the MK is expensive so i get why you decide to look for alternatives
*
to me, the logitech slim folio would have been perfect if it had a trackpad. But since it doesn't, it became a dealbreaker for me (if you look at the folio combo, which is the folio+detachable keyboard+trackpad) for the other iPads (iPad and iPad Air), you'll see its easily the best "utility" case. Protection? check. Usable keyboard? Check. Trackpad with all gestures supported? Check.

Just cant' wrap my head why Logitech hasn't done that with the iPad Pro 11.

There was speculation on how Apple might not have allowed 3rd party manufacturers by not openly sharing its trackpad support code, which I think it is true so that’s perhaps why Logitech decides to not encroach that territory and make an inferior trackpad experience.

Like how Brydge Pro+ botched it

But if I were in your position, I might consider getting the Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse
*
I am considering. But the "bottom line" for me, would be

a logitech k380, and i forgot what logitech bluetooth mouse, then a case that is proper and has stylus slots.

That's the bottom line, since it is cheaper, (except for case, where I have no idea), and doesn't disrupt the "working rhythm".

I use my surface pro 2 (2014) and learnt that i ended up using the touchpad more than the touchscreen whenever i'm on typing work, and for a good reason. Taking the hand off to reach for a stylus to tap on something to highlight, edit, etc, really puts a bad interruption to the rhythm.

i use touchscreen while working with keyboard, i think i’m getting used to it. i got 1 keyboard at office, 1 at home, since they are cheap  biggrin.gif rather than buying MK which will be heavy to bring around.. funny that i’m back to using ipad pro bcoz of the MK hype, but end up not getting it. lol
*
Yeap. i'm looking at potential great combos. But i still find tapping the screen on a surface pro, then continue typing on the keyboard is annoying (for word related edit work). Maybe it won't be on an iPad Pro, I don't know.

Still, i'm somewhat frugal, but I don't want to be penny wise pound foolish. But MK is a no-no for me, since it has zero protection from drop impacts.

Do you need to bring the keyboard around?
*
In my use case, yes. Long story short, I prefer physical keys if I have to hammer a long essay / report.

You see, whenever I go, I have my BlackBerry, and my huge-ass Clevo (which works as my main rig, for gaming and alot of work in between). The surface was "perfect" (until it wasn't) as everything in between the laptop and the phone. I know the iPad will be the perfect fit (replacement for the surface).

I first used surface pro without anything, then later I found that I work best with a keyboard and mousepad + stylus.

That was why I was looking at the Logitech slim combo, then found out there isn't a version of it for iPad Pro 11 2020.

Buying An Apple smart folio + apple pencil 2 + a rugged case that works with the folio = not worth the money, and doesn't check all the boxes I want.

Since Logitech Slim Combo is not available for iPad Pro 11 2020, the combination which you mentioned above is the best option you have so far. IF I am in your position, I will wait for the Logitech Slim Combo to be released then only own the iPad Pro.
Hey..

MK sure is an expensive piece of accessory for iPad Pro but it definitely fulfill the need for some portion of the market.

Currently, we are in the same scenario where I don't type a lot with my iPad Pro hence I opt-out for MK. The reason I went for with Logitech K380 is because it able to switch 3 devices with a single click. Nowadays I type a lot on my laptop for work and iPad Pro is sort of a companion device during my working hours. With that being said, my ideal solution is to have a single keyboard to conquer 2 devices.  bruce.gif

I have a Magic Trackpad 2 which connected to my iPad Pro so I still enjoy all the gestures which a mouse unable to perform.  biggrin.gif

Hi Scarxxx.

I think i just found a really good compromise to what I want, with a bluetooth keyboard that comes with a trackpad.

That means now I just have to hunt for a really good case (Zugu Alpha? Also not available) that offers really good protection. The stylus can come later (i'm thinking of the Adonit Note Plus, but i'm open to other ideas since I don't draw)

Anyone can recommend case for iPad Pro 12.9 + Magic Keyboard?
*
https://9to5mac.com/2020/05/12/ipad-magic-keyboard-case/

as ridiculous as it sounds, this is how this company went. It still doesn't solve the fundamental "what happens to side protection", and "what if the fall is too strong that the ipad falls off the magnet".

QUOTE(scarxxx @ Jun 10 2020, 04:48 PM)
I think there are plenty of Bluetooth keyboard which come with a trackpad but I am not sure any of them going to support iPadOS multi gestures. Maybe perhaps any members here have such setup. Hope they can chip in their experience with it.

As for stylus, I believe there are few of the members here own it.

Update:
- Foldable Keyboard with Touchpad for iPad Pro 2020
- List of foldable Bluetooth keyboard in Shopee
*
Yeah. I was looking at that. Shopee and Lazada are selling it below RM100, which is surprisingly affordable, and I think its a good compromise between having a folio case and always-on keyboard.

Though, I still haven't found a proper case since Zugu Alpha seems only available from the manufacturer and not through any retailers.

It is exactly like how the MK trackpad works. Once you touch it, the pointer will appear. The gesture is exactly like that you do on the iPad itself.
Speaking about this, at last the seller shipped it after 2 weeks!!!
As for the side protection, I got myself a CoverBuddy to solve that issue whenever I attached my iPad with a cheap cover folio.

Based on your input, you have to compromise in order to suit your needs and budget since that MK is darn expensive. As those foldable keyboard, don’t expect it to be tactile though. If you don’t care about that and just want to get things done then you can go ahead with the purchase.
*
nope, not getting MK. I actually found a setup I think i'm much happier with.

An ESR case (that oddly, looks suspiciously like a Zugu)
A foldable bluetooth keyboard
some random screen protector
dbrand skins (because, why not?)
and now the final piece... the stylus. Still looking around.
All that for the price of slightly what I would pay for a brand new Apple Pencil. or I think half the price of the MK. Phew!

the dbrand you order directly from the US site?

I'm not sure. I just went to their site. They said free shipping above 25USD, and the total of 3 skins (camera, side, and back) for the iPad is around 31USD)

I believe you are referring to this: https://shopee.com.my/product/126382392/542...7611?smtt=0.0.9

If you want to get a screen protector that have paper-feel whenever you write on it, you can consider ESR screen protector too. If you go to the link above, you can have it at a cheaper price with add-on deal.

You can consider Adonit stylus as an alternative to Apple Pencil.

With all that being said, looks like you have your buy list completed.
*
Yes, yes. That was the case.
Thanks for the heads up on paper-feel. I heard there are pros and cons, but I think i'll take up on your suggestion to but them as add-on. Never know when one may need it, and the price is indeed cheaper when bundled as add-on instead of ala carte purchase.

Ah! I didn't know that they got sales period lol.

For stylus, i again recommend Adonit Note  laugh.gif i got one and feel lucky that i give it a try before i pull trigger on apple pencil (again)
*
this is something I have to watch out for. Apparently there's this goojodoq (apple pencil 2 clone?) with magnet (even claims to have magnet charging, except i'm not sure if the charge is on the butt of the styli, or in the middle like apple pencil. Then again, i'm considering because i may have no need for pressure sensitivity (although I know that from my previous use with a wacom stylus on a surface pro, it is a much enjoyed feature).

Yeap. The one I was looking at though, was the "gen 6". If you dig around the pictures, it even has pictures up to "gen 8". Google says even Gen 9 is available (but i've yet to see proofs). This one has a lot of things packed in for a sub-RM100 stylus for ipad.

Palm rejection
Tilt writing
Magnetic attachment (doesn't charge from there though)

pretty impressive. Just no pressure sensitivity.

And i somehow want to kick myself for not checking out last night because i was still contemplating the note plus vs this one. Then the note plus's discount (which was at RM290) is now back to RM325. blergh. Everything else except the dbrand skins have been ordered (i'm checking out the mojoskins.co that you've mentioned before).

Did you consider to get the Apple Pencil instead? You can get it at a cheaper price if you buy via the education store?

As for the skin, I would not recommend it if you are using your iPad Pro with the case on all the time. Reason I said so is due to the fact that you already have the protection from the case while the sticker is just sitting between your iPad and the case. In short, LPPL. LOL!

By the way, my younger brother had the sticker on his 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” and he ripped it off after a few weeks. He said that sticker somehow ripped at the edges after he constantly taking his case on and off.

That’s my thoughts on the stickers. Hope it helps.
*
Yeap, I did consider it, and checked it. RM549, and edu store is about RM509. RM40 disccount.

That's why I was thinking of the Logitech Crayon. Then that's how I learnt about the Adonit Note Plus (from this thread as well) where its around the same price (and in certain retailers, cheaper than Logitech Crayon), does everything the Apple Pencil 2 does (except no magnets, and no native support on every apps). Still hanging on, but maybe i'll settle for a Goojodoq, if i don't need the pressure sensitivity. I was also looking at the Bamboo Fineline, and the Bamboo Sketch, but it seems that both products aren't available any longer. Weird.

As for the case, you're refering to the mojoskins, right? Or skins in general? Interesting point to note about the skins ripping at the edges.

So iPad Pro arrived yesterday morning, and I'm excited.

Then I noticed there was a note for me (or supposed to have one) but it didn't come along.

Slightly bummed.

And here's the sillier thing. The Adonit Note Plus that i bought from a forumer here @seng_kiat hasn't arrived, LOL (despite shipping it earlier).

And ESR also decided to screw up by sending in a case, but not the screen protector that I bought (weird, weird, weird).

1 day plus, i'm amazed, but i'm also dumbfounded as to what to do with it, since there are some apps that I use on the Android ecosystem, that either doesn't exist, or I have to re-purchase. But i'm willing to spend some time digging around to find what's the best.

I just bought iPad pro.. now looking for SP.
Which one better or more convenient? Tempered glass or paper like film?
Any suggestions ? 🙏

The only thing I can advise, based on experience with tempered glasses is that what do you want to use it for.

If you're using to scribble and write a lot, and you care a lot about the feel, the matte based paperlike screens are good.

However, if you're not into the feels, any decent screen protector will do. Just look for the ones that are proven to not shatter your iPad's glass.

Thanks. I'm sitll finding the rythm for this. For example, Zoom sharing isn't as intuitive as the one on desktop, but I'm pretty sure its about me still not getting used to the UI in general. Now I'm undergoing the training in Apple Teacher's to get the certification, and it isn't as easy as it looks.
