What do you mostly do? What limited you?

I cannot tahan the ecosystem to make it as my daily main device for editing excel and word files. MS office apps in Windows or MacOS is still on a different league compared to the apps on the ipad. Laptops triumphs in App window resizing, number on apps open simultaneously, flexibility of the ecosystem, drag and drop of files, transfer of files to external hdd or usb and the list goes on and on. Ipados still has a very very long way before it can be claimed as a laptop replacement. Nasib i didnt buy one and just test family member’s punya for 3 days, if not i would have experienced a major regret session hahaha

Might wanna hold on to that thought mate. Recent iPadOS MS Office beta is going through interesting changes.

Hmmm i know about the beta changes. But let me put it in this manner, the way i use a laptop and the apps i use in a laptop makes the ipados incompatible with me smile.gif ..it only took me 3 days to realise that the ipados is lacking alot of features the macos and windows offer. Put macos in the ipad and there u go, a proper laptop replacement (of course apple wont do this at it will jeopardise their macbook line up)

I can see the limitation of the iPad OS and I do find certain things limited too however, it is also really unfair to compare iPad OS to a full fledge desktop operating system where one is a lot of familiar than just 3 days on the iPad OS.

Also I highlighted that because, the difference between us is that we spent our money on it as compared to we tried another person’s.

The difference can be that one wants to work with the iPad OS and the other wants to compare with Mac OS.

Nothing wrong with either and emotionally, our propensities are mostly tied to our cash. What is unequivocal is that Mac OS is definitely more powerful but iPad OS is well optimised for its limited usage, not Mac OS powerful but sufficient for some of us.

Believe it or not I had not been using Mac OS for days now and would only switch to the MBA when my iPad runs out of battery(I don’t bring the charger to the office).

I’ve been loving iPad OS a lot more because I’ve gotten used to the gestures and is able to switch from one app to another, multitask, with the utilisation of the slide over very quickly and am no longer used to the touch pad functions of the Mac OS. If anything I find Mac OS a lot more complicated to learn everything and iPad OS a lot simpler and tidier, love the split screen especially.

My view is obviously slanted towards iPad OS, it is not cheap haha

Good explanation and yes, it really depends on individual. Most common users will do fine with the ipados. Me on the other hand, the ipados definitely is too limited for my usage and hence the decision to stick to laptops. But i strongly disagree apple’s claim that ipads are a laptop replacement. Individual preferences lorrr smile.gif
