You got your Adonit note plus dah?
*
Hi!

Yes, finally got my Adonit Note Plus. I have not try properly yet. Just had 5 mins check and it works. Just that it doesnt do pressure sensitive where it should be, and also the tilt function .. I have not read in details on this yet .. perhaps this just for a few app that is supporting this functions?

Yeah, likely. Wait for your review.

Ok, I have done some reading about it, looks like some apps only support the pressure sensitivity and tilt functions. I am using Good Notes as my main notes app and it does not support the above 2 functions. I am too lazy to try other apps as Good Notes is good for me.

It is act as pen only and it is enough for me as I am using mostly to sign pdf doc only. Palm rejection feature is works tho in Good Notes. If you are not into those sketching or something, Note is more than enough. I should have gotten Adonit Note instead of Note+ .. Cheaper by about 100 bucks.

By the way, do anyone know if I can have something like rubber stamp of company info in pdf? Anyone do before?

Yeah, Adonit Note Plus is close to Rm100 more expensive than Adonit Note. Erm...i may consider switcheasy EasyPencil, it will be the price of Adonit Note, but maybe difficult to claim warranty if something goes wrong.
*
Switcheasy pencil seems interesting tho but I still prefer apple pencil. The only thing is mine gone in 1 drop. Aiyaa! I read from the internet, it is very reliable and not affected by a drop.

It’s a budget device that most will stick in a case.

The 8 was available, and currently still is, available in space grey, silver and gold. So it’s the same amount of options. There may be other colours added to refresh the line up as time goes on, but at launch I don’t think you’ll see the vast array of colour options you want.
*
They keep the flagship model color limited to such as grey, silver, rosegold is just because of their market is for professional. Given the high price, not many youngster can afford it. Yes, there some young people buying but back to basic, their marketing is for professional as target market.

who buying the new magic keyboard?

i’m still undecided, having it in cart but... hmm RM1k++ just for a keyboard
*
Depends on people. For me, typing experience is important and this magic keyboard deliver pleasure in typing.

If your priority on mobility or lightweight, this keyboard might be heavy compare to their smart folio.

If you can afford it comfortably go for the keyboard

But if it is going to hurt you for the next few months, don’t let peer pressure force you to buy it
*
Yes, this is right. No matter how good the thing is, but if we have to cut on our necessity, it is not a good move.

Tried out the demo units of the Magic Keyboard, kinda wish I gotten the 12.9" version. Then again, the screen real estate is too large for me to handle.

So sticking to my 11"  : sweat.gif

For me, ipad 12.9 is just perfect size for laptop replacement. I use my ipad every single day 6-7 hours for my works. Completely leave my laptop or computer to perform my daily job.

To me i just store any file in iCloud, so can switch between mac and ipad anytime.. 1 thing tho, ipad so quick to use.. both my imac and macbook are getting slow and laggy, hence i would use ipad except for desktop type software requirements.. i know my imac and macbook are long due to be updated, but i just refused to spend too much money nowadays for upgrade. My macbook pro 15” was bought in 2013 and imac 2014.. lol.. i bought macbook 12” in 2017 but sold, coz i just feel apple are being too stingy on mac line, by putting minimal hardware but charging high price, while for higher hardware spec need to break banks to buy  doh.gif Tbh ipad is where i feel apple being quite generous, priced decently for a device can be used for professional purposes. Until recently when i see the price for its keyboard.. ayam angry  ranting.gif  ranting.gif

But i still want to buy the keyboard for the sake of replacing my macbook  rclxs0.gif
*
My imac is 2015 or 2016 model .. cant really remember but Apple really good by slowing down old machines. This iMac if I restart, it takes about 10-15 minutes before it fully able to run .. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

hmm maybe.. but the report is for Oppo VOOC fast charging, 40w.

While ipad is using standard USB-C power delivery, takes max of 35w (usually lower, around 30w). i think we can't imply the Oppo report directly on ipad. anyway, the rule of thumb for battery degradation is the charge cycles, means how many times it has reached full charge cycles. put smatphone/ tablet aside, laptop has been using high capacity charging for long time, even the macbook itself. the charge cycles contributed to the battery health status. huawei and oppo fast charging technology is quite different, at some extend i would say experimental
*
I recently bought usb-c 100w cable. Head or adaptor i will use standard apple. Problem as well?

You bought from apple store? How to do you claim the warranty? I contacted hotline for apple pencil, they asked me to go to Apple Service or something at KLCC or The Curve. Theres another I forget. Perhaps Midvalley.

few days ago when someone asked, what are alternatives for apple pencil? i replied that the original apple pencil is no brainer is the only best option there is. now i would like to take back what i said, sorry, i was wrong sweat.gif

back in 2017, i bought ipad pro (older model), 2018 i bought the newer version, 2019 i downgrade to ipad mini, now i’m back to ipad pro. for each ipad purchase, i’ve bought apple pencil with each of them, from apple pencil 1, to apple pencil 2, then back to pencil 1 for the ipad mini. figured that i’ve bought apple pencil too many times, so yesterday i think back, how bad could the pencil alternatives nowadays be, given so many years already. back then, i did try several stylus but can’t find anything that can replace apple pencil. so i started to google around, saw several comparison reviews of pencil alternatives. it seems apple has allow 3rd party company to use their apple pencil technology?

i saw this adonit note being sold locally, so i thought i wanna give it a try, i contacted the seller, lucky enough he was willing to cod so i can test it before buying. so here you can see, i was sold after testing it  laugh.gif

pairing? so simple, press the button, tap the ipad with the pencil, they are connected almost instantly, no need to do anything else. i can tell that writing using the adonit note is as fluent as as using the apple pencil. the accuracy is also similar. feel like writing using normal pencil, really. the size is just right, and the matte surface on it makes it less slippery.. its just that this version doesn’t have pressure sensitivity (the newer version does) but i don’t need that, i just use to write note mostly. it also has a clip to put in pocket, so 1 less worry to lost or drop pencil like before. but i wouldn’t really mind if this drop, its just RM225, less than half of the price of apple pencil. another advantage is, can turn off the stylus, or it will off itself automatically when left unused for quite sometime. it sounds silly, but i think adonit make better pencil than apple itself  biggrin.gif
*
I got myself Adonit Note Plus to replace my broken apple pencil 2 during mco .. Have not have time to go to claim at apple service yet. Maybe tomorrow. Yes, my Adonit has pressure sensitivity but it is not all. Just certain apps that support it. If I know, I would buy the same as yours, cheaper too. One thing I miss apple Pencil is it availbility to stick on ipad. So hassle free. Other than that, this Adonit Note Plus performs as good as apple pencil.

I‘Ve claimed warranty for faulty Pencil in January, I went to Machines IOI CIty Mall but they asked me to go to Swtich The Mines as that is the nearest Service Centre around Putrajaya area. I went there, walk-in (eventhough it is recommended to set an appointment first), sent my Pencil in, 3 days later got a call to collect my replacement Pencil. As Apple Pencil is a non-repairable item, they will straight replace new unit if yours is faulty. No weird questions or anything, all very smooth.
Logitech Crayon is another alternative too, I used to have it before, quite good I would say. But since it is hard to find a case which can accomodate the bulkiness of it, so I went back to Apple Pencil.
Nowadays there are many China brand Pencil that works quite well, there is 1 that looks exactly like Pencil 2, has palm rejection and tilt control, but lacks pressure sensitivity. It also charges via USB-C, so can share cable with iPad Pro. I gave it to the buyer together when I sold my iPad. The best thing is that it costs only RM90 but works just as well like Pencil 2 (and has similar design too!  laugh.gif )

Ahh, Thanks for the input bro.. I might get some free times to tomorrow to go and claim. Perhaps at apple The Curve or Midvalley.

Its adonit note+ the newer version. But as seng_kiat share above, the pressure sensitivity maybe not applied to all apps.. so then not sure it worth or not
*
If you are not into drawing or skcetching, I dont think you need the apple pencil 2 but if the budget permit, I still prefer apple pencil 2. Just because it has magnet as well as it’s apple .. tongue.gif
