Just received my mikrotik ambience!

Hopefully can get it to work.

1. maxis fiber broadband.
2. like to setup nordvpn, under one of the 5Ghz wifi, to connect to US nordvpn server.(( this network only for netflix/amazon prime via the smart TV)
3. normal 2.4ghz wifi and normal 5ghz wifi for local malaysian internet.

Probably need to check out this thread and brush up my mikrotik skills.

This is my first mikrotik. I have been reading about mikrotik for close to 5 years. Finally!

I received cease and desist from TM because my GitHub guide encourage noob to replace own GPON cause issue on their OLT

Those noob doesn't understand about PON doh.gif
I guess noob ignore my warning:

I had to remove any TM related OMCI blobs and dump online
even UART dump and OMCI pcap file

This happen because 'someone' made call 100 and asking technician to fix his PON Stick,
It's obviously outside their pay-grade, technician cannot call HBC to modify OLT just to allow his PON Stick.

Take note that OLT can fake Operation Status, even with correct PLOAM and SN and get O5, still can't have internet because OLT faking O5.
Can't further investigation as his PON Stick lacks of this diagnostic:

I am using my own Identifier on TM network, trial run to separate DIY, my stick and original

TM can query ME 350

rest assured, who use my firmware are safe rclxms.gif

Geez.... Those fellas are beyond thick....

I started to set up my ROS 7++... Router (L009) using the old Subtel YouTube... Also damn sakit kepala...

I gave up thinking I could do the Pon thing.

Managed to get the CAP AX SETUP as AP, after 3-4 weeks. Lulz.... Mikrotik is not that easy.

I never believe what TM said. I am sure everyday people call and ask for PPPoE password but they still insist on using it.
Do you think their legal department is so free to work on him just because one guy call and enquire about PON stick?

TM is doing it to hide something, that is the D-Link firmware. It has kill-switch inside, loaded with security vulnerabilities and maybe some other bad stuff too.

woooo... that is an interesting take.

yeah, the noobs who buy Pon stick probably have those adventurer type of mindset.... why would they call tm for tech support.... grinding it out and making it happen!!!!

but surely like ants in hot pans.... while doing the setup, I had to make sure, I do not impact anyone else who might need internet.... it is hectic.... any personally, I had to have another phone/tablet with internet while I did my half ass setup.

at the end of it, I was happy, but the process is definitely something to talk about. ROS7 changed quite a bit of setting different from ROS6.
