here's something new i found

if you use this

the dual/quad port broadcom 10g pcie card would have to hang off the side externally haha

This is a lot more interesting

Four 10GbE SFP+ ports and five 2.5G ethernet ports. I wonder though how much switching/routing throughput that 8 core atom can support.

Power consumption would be higher but its a lot more flexible.

theres alot of this box with built in 10gbe, but we it seems cannot use any of them because they dont use the right NIC chipset

thats why i highlighted the other box which has a pcie slot, so we can use it with a broadcom 10g NIC

Ah alright.

It has M.2 slots so potentially can through a m.2 -> pcie adapter, though will have to figure out how to make it fit neatly.

Wish they had a lower power/cheaper version of this.

Looks perfect for use as a AIO router but the i9 is wayyyyyy overkill for this.

Hey Anime4000, just wondering if any of your customers have had a similar case to mine where it looks like their ONU/ONR is binded to the OLT, and that they can't switch their ONU themselves without getting TM involved? I faced this issue when my line got upgraded to 1Gbps and the technician had to call the backend team to sort out the new ONU - he gave me one new FTTH one and the black Dlink, didn't know how exactly to set up bridge mode so I said I'd set it up myself and replace it but when I did the internet wouldn't work, until the technician had to come another day and call the back end guys again. After that switching back to the other two ONUs from before both don't work.

I'm getting quite annoyed at having to restart the stupid D-link ONR every night, even with an automation set up sometimes the speed drops halfway through my day even doing that.

And that's without considering the security issues and other nonsense involved with that device.

Thinking if I should try your pon stick option, but not sure if I'd run into the same trouble as above. The TM technicians would just auto-close any reports if they detected there wasn't an outage so I'd have to live without internet just to get them to assign a technician to the report ... and then if they see what I'm trying to do I doubt they'd help sweat.gif

Only seen one other person in the main Unifi thread complain about not being able to change their ONU themselves so I'm guessing this only affects some unlucky few of us.

I've got two of the black Dlink ONRs on hand now though, one thing I've yet to try is to switch between them and check if they work, though I guess its unlikely its some model bind, more likely a MAC bind.

and No, GPON not bind by MAC Address, instead if bind by Serial Number.

Ah ok, and this isn't a problem because you can alter the serial number being reported by the PON?

Really hope its this simple, hard to get information on this since there doesn't seem to be many who are affected like me, everyone else seems to just be able to switch their ONU and it works right away except for me lol.

Also, what router do have or plan to use? Because not all Router capable to process 2Gbps via PPPoE, like TP-LINK Archer GE800 can't handle it.

I have a GT-BE98U which I'm ashamed to admit blush.gif
Its overkill, should really have just gotten a RB5009UG but I thought I could use the Wifi7 without getting separate APs, but its pointless at the moment.
I only have a 1Gbps line though and PPPoE works fine through this dlink above 1000mbps, whenever it hasn't mysteriously drop below 300.

Once I have some free time I'll look into the steps you mentioned, will PM you. In my case I'll need a media converter also since my router doesn't have an SFP port (another reason to regret not getting the mikrotik). Will likely be after September.
