it's probably the reason why ookla's speedtest cli never get beyong 1Gbps...i can see CPU consumed 90%++ whenever executed.
Home Networking Ditch ONU, use GPON SFP on Business Grade Router, 2.5G ONU for Unifi & Maxis, NO NEED VLAN

those lazada/shopee mini pc with multiple (claimed) 2.5Gbps. running on intel celeron etc.
are they powerful and stable to be turned into ultra router? i'm waiting to see what "token of appreciation" is first. if really getting 2.5Gbps BTU, then this will be sweet. |

i am some one who don't like blackbox solutions that i don't have understanding about. or worst, no control over.
what's this pfsense? i never used it. what's if i install rhel-variant or debian-variant and configure everything from scratch. will that be better or worst than -whatever-? |

QUOTE(Anime4000 @ Nov 15 2023, 01:09 AM) also TM priority it's Unifi 2Gbps first. I have checked that Unifi Ultra didn't have Pbits traffic shaping meanwhile Maxis on TM have predefined Pbits traffic shaping with wide gaps in between, Maxis likely get high ping when Unifi Ultra in use same PON network. if such prioritisation is the case, i should be having a total domination over the bandwidth of my exchange.Maxis 2Gbps better off on Maxis own infra yet only manage a paltry download and upload. inb4 not realising @oltromen is no longer the only prioritised ultra subscriber in the same exchange |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Nov 27 2023, 08:02 PM) Anyone using Maxis 2Gbps on TM Infra mind to shed some light on the performance? at least TIME is "true" 2Gbps.Seriously considering switching over from TIME 1Gbps TIME 2Gbps is too pricey read the current few last pages of Maxis Fibre thread: 1Gbps-ers need to recontract because ONU(!) need to change, yet only get Fibrehome 1GbE ONU, not 2.5GbE. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?amp;show...ost&p=108633445 This post has been edited by Oltromen Ripot: Nov 27 2023, 08:12 PM |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Nov 27 2023, 08:13 PM) I will be registering for a new account so I should be getting a 2.5G capable ONU. its 1 premise 1 fibre.Only sad part is my area doesn't have Maxis NGBB. Unifi have these rules: • cannot have multiple ISPs per premise, • a premise can have up to 3 subscriptions, but each need to belong to different owner. the first rule surely apply to Maxis as well on HSBB. 2nd, that one not sure if also applicable to Maxis. if want to switch between HSBB-based ISPs, not sure if they allow so without having to terminate first. before, somebody wanted to relocate ISPx to existing premise with ISPy, but both Maxis and Unifi refused to play ball, both ask termination first then apply anew. -- ohwait, after typing the above, it occured that you are currently on TIME, so HSBB rule definitely not yet applicable on your spanking new Maxis application. |

QUOTE(chong601 @ Dec 13 2023, 09:24 AM) It is now one month since that and TM did not reply to my MCMC complaint. my advices:SOOOOOOO with that, I have created a beautiful website called https://howfuccedis.my/ping/charts to show them how it looks like from the customer point of view about the internet experience. These charts are 100% live and interactive, and instructions on how to utilize the chart interaction are included. History should go up to one month back (except on Optiplex 5050 because I just recently updated the router, so the chart data is gone) For everyone here, enjoy the shitfuckery known as UniFi """""Ultra""""" Experience! For TM people that lurks here, hi, and CAN YOU FIND SOMEONE COMPETENT ENOUGH TO LOOK AT MY ISSUE. My MCMC report ID is TC230110-00050. • remove the OS and version info (avoid getting attack specific to OS and version) • highlight large LARGE that the internet is supplied by TM who had promised ULTRA experience but delivered --redacted expletive--. • put a simple network map (as it is, i can't determine where your fibre is connected to and through) so that people can make sense of the network flow. or at least draw a map of how your network edge is connected to unifi. ejery liked this post
