Wow, it has been yearsss since last I logged to Lowyat.net and found this thread.

To the admins, and the great contributors to the idea, please update the first post, so that the guide is complete and can be followed easily by the others.

I am still with Unifi 500/100, still with the ugly Huawei ONU and EdgeRouter 4. Kinda hate the ONU since its taking space in my network rack. Will turn to this thread when I upgrade. Plan to upgrade local LAN first to 10gbe and WiFi BE, and then upgrade the Internet speed to other (not prefer TM or Time because of unsymmetrical speed) like Allo, after they solve their service up-time. Been using a lot of personal VPN, my company VPN to transfer huge data and upload speed became much more important too.

Keep updating, guys! Not everyone need this. Only serious users appreciate it. Hate the TM 2Gbps hardware and their aggregated offering.

After long talk with TM, all is about this post
where year August 2022 manage to achieve 2Gbps before real 2Gbps Ultra Plan come,
the ODI Stick (especially Realtek SoC & Firmware) is able to ignore OLT bandwidth cap.

TM especially told me not to support this kind of hack and don't guide them.
This "hack" will give unfair to other subscribe who under same fiber split...

well this,
TM also give hard warning to customer found using ODI/VSOL (Realtek Firmware Kernel 2.x), TM has right to suspended, ban and impose heavy fine

TM can run ONT sweep by sending proprietary OMCI command where only TM authorized ONU understand.
ODI/VSOL with "flash set OMCI_FAKE_OK 1" will give wrong respond, this way they can catch you.

---

After I digging up, Realtek Luna SDK that use very old Linux kernel, many OEM didn't change default firmware code, also use many quick code hack as long it's works. (as mention before)

also, you can weaponized ODI/VSOL Stick by Entering:
CODE
/bin/diag epon set force-laser-on state enable
/bin/diag gpon set tx-laser force-on

this will disconnect other ONU from OLT, making other don't have internet

I still can update my GitHub Repo as target for International, just main thread I cannot guide fully,

from now on, I only guide non-Realtek stick, sorry.

Damn, my home Unifi use the ODI stick with no problems. Needs to change? If yes, change to what?

most GPON ONU SFP use Realtek processor,

one particular SFP that use Linux Kernel 3.x on Realtek SoC and quite stable what I heard, not from China sadly, somewhere in Europe, don't expect cheap shipping like China

user posted image
still use Realtek and "force-laser-on" and "tx-laser force-on" still present in the firmware

I need ask 5G RAN guy if can increase my quota

still can't since use same Realtek SoC, it has tx laser on command.

even my self use ODI stick, and modified firmware after reading OMCI from wireshark, it should mimic Nokia ONU responds since mine was under Nokia OLT.

only ODI Stick for TM-Maxis can use (GEM EntityId hack, map everything into one interface because stupid LAN 2)

I been modifying the firmware, reverse engineering via Ghidra MIPS just to mask TM special OMCI, this one I hard coded my information into binary blob. Can't keep flashing the firmware without destroying SPI Flash

without Realtek Luna SDK source code, we only can do is reverse engineering, hope not get Legal action from Realtek 😅

we also trying decompile into source code, only issue is RISC MIPS processor that Realtek use is not ordinary MIPS like Mikrotik use, compiler tool chain is unknown to us

they EU guy replied, won't support TM LAN Port Provision/Entity Id hack like ODI did,

I assume Malaysia dude buy from him is on other ISP.

Entity Id hack is quick way to map everything into one interface, if VLAN inside VLAN (QinQ) need double unpack. Gladly TM didn't use Q-in-Q, that would be horrible VLAN setup.

waiting for him how EU guy implement EntityId safely, since he have right access Realtek Luna SDK code, as usual, cannot share.

Hi, I noticed your post advertising this ditch onu method in the tm unifi members group in FB
Did you get under TM's radar after posting there? because that group used to be unofficial tm staff group, there are many staff members inside.

perhaps, I just want to solve 2Gbps issue without 1+1

they ™ specifically blame ODI/VSOL because it can ignore some OMCI command, especially OLT Bandwidth Control issue of this post (2Gbps on August 2022)

user reported ODI stick CPU always run 100% on Nokia OLT, (detail of user is secret), accessing telnet seem very slow, sshd service also hangs. trying to investigate if OLT did that on purpose...

A user from Facebook recently bought the GPON ONU SFP (non-realtek) and I just completed setup his RB5009 & GPON ONU SFP

user posted image

he very happy with the speed.

apparently Ubiquiti UDM can't handle 2Gbps over PPPoE, it doesn't have PPP Acceleration, so, he off buy Mikrotik RB5009.

I need update about this info

Intel variant

someone do factory reset the GPON ONU SFP and cause TM MIB (management information base) get erased, thus OLT denied authenticated at stuck at O7 State
had to re-import MIB from D-LINK ONR to GPON ONU SFP

This MIB what I got from D-LINK ONR should respect TM OLT.

if OLT OMCI said VLAN400 should stay inside ONU, GPON ONU SFP also follow and wont bridge VLAN400

apparently Scammer use ODI to force bridge VLAN400, many customer don't use VoIP and Scammer simply rent it,
as owner of VoIP account got huge sum and give it away the VoIP Credential, this very reasons TM don't tell your VoIP password
unless you persuade the on-site technician.

I think TM need detect one IP login multiple VoIP, but this will hurt legitimate as-well.

I had no idea how to prevent it, I hope my Maxis VoIP wont cause of that bangwall.gif

no risk at the moment, just use legally 😅

Let say currently, I'm on Unifi 300mbps plan and I op-in for the GPON solution, I can get 2Gbps speed with just paying 300mbps plan subscription?
