Problem is where can you even find a 5G phone that costs around 2k? The cheapest so far is Vivo Nex 3 at RM 3499, but it's still not certified as a 5G phone by MCMC yet, although the hardware does support 5G. zzpp_low liked this post

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Mar 16 2020, 12:47 AM) Problem is where can you even find a 5G phone that costs around 2k? Basically still got, Redmi k30 got 5g version. The cheapest so far is Vivo Nex 3 at RM 3499, but it's still not certified as a 5G phone by MCMC yet, although the hardware does support 5G. Price estimate 1.7k. But havent certified by Sirim also la. But still support 5g. |

Not necessary to buy a 5g phone unless you find a good value. Same as not necessary to buy an AX router at home till all devices support the standard

Waste of money to buy it now if you're going to stick with it for the next three years. Buying one with 5G capability three years later probably makes more sense.

Probably no unless you need extreme speeds. 5G phones are overpriced now and a stable 4G can give you pretty good speed for literally everything.
Also, 5G probably will kill battery |

5G is still in its early stages but there is no reason why you should or shouldn't get it.
Adopt 5G early: future-proof yourself but can you really tell the speed difference? Adopt 5G later: 4G is already reliable so you won't miss out too much. Just all up to your preference and budget. |
