Looking for bigger tv with hdmi 2.1
So far sony 85" x90h met my expectation
But worried about the hdr brightness in bright room
Lower than x95g iinm...
Any owner of x90h can share the experience?
*
very good black levels...good for dark room

estimated 700 nits +/-...decent enough for HDR movies. imho, its very bright now...i lowered the brightness to 20 (from 50max)

with 85 inch size, its gona be awesome, go for it! smile.gif

size matters! cool2.gif

From my experience with 85" x90H, with HDR on, it IS very bright.

Sometimes it so bright that FALD is not handling it well, I can see blooming, subtitles can cause the dark bar at the bottom to have minor light leak.

And top left can see some blooming on Netflix HDR movies too.

that might be a problem cause currently im spending loads of money renovating my new home.

so i was thinking, for the extra money i have, i can use for an additional sound bar if theres any additional.

if i get the x90h, no budget liao for soundbar haha

plan soundbar for future la.. in the meantime use TV speakers first.

i cant advice u for atmos. as i dont use it. i am still using 5.1 only. does atmos work without earc? i not sure about this. coz i believe there is no earc now. waiting for firmware update.

my reason to get x90h 55" over x80h 65" is for the FALD feature and the higher quality panel. if u prefer size of feature, then x80h will be suitable for u. Side by side, I see very little diffference at least on demo. I suspect with darker scene movies, the absence of FALD will be felt more. But this is a case only if u watch in a dark or semi dark room as it is in my case. If u watch in a well lit room, this is not so much an issue i think.

your budget for x80h 75" can probably also get a x90h 65" plus 1k pocket change

i also at the middle of choosing - 55X90H vs 65X80H .. yesterday wana take up 55X90H.. (duit pun out of pocket sdh) but was told run out of stock, by 22nd sept.. wait for new stock arrive.. n was stund up front of 65X80H.. really.. make me hard choice... i prefer to get the latest features.. but.. cant affort to 65X90H - RM6k(out of budget) ohmy.gif ...... , there oni rm300 differrent - 55X90H / 65X80H.. shakehead.gif

Do u mean x90h has poor local dimming?
have you tried setting like the video below?
many ppl were satisfied with the setting.
They told no more blooming issues.

No issue with subtitle on SDR movies, only a bit annoying on HDR movies.

The blooming is more obvious if u not sitting directly in front of the tv. Even off by 10 degrees also can notice the blooming already. It will be less obvious under direct light n sitting directly center.

For OLED subtitle in black bar no blooming issue in HDR but still too bright if subtitle is in white color.

Lucky player I use can choose Light Grey for subtitle and this will eliminate the issue.

Some blooming on certain scenes only..not all the time.

You can play around with the settings, to minimize it.

At the end of the day, it is what is it...its FALD LCD TV.

If you want zero blooming, get an OLED

I dont see any other FALD TV can compete with x90h for now...(in Malaysia market)

I owned LG OLED TV and definitely zero blooming issue. But for 85 inch TV with budget less than 15k, X90H is the best option for me right now.

ready stock as of hunting last month is Harvey Norman...Seng Heng within 1 week....1 Living need 2-3 weeks upon order/booking
price wise Harvey Norman > Seng Heng > 1 Living (hence the ready stock vs price offered)

Seng Heng and SenQ last i went some shop got stock. Just need the staff to make an effort to call around and see which shop has it. But they say for sure the Shah Alam warehouse has stock. But that one can only be sent with delivery only. No self pickup. If u planning to buy from this shop, and if u got citibank credit card, ask for their plusone citi membership. this will give u +2 years additional warranty instead of just +1 for regular member. This is the mistake i done last time. Dont repeat.

You mean, you can use any citibank credit card to get extra 2 years warranty on all products at Senq or Seng Heng? How much would that cost?

I using Infuse Pro in my Apple TV 4K, the most customizable subtitle apps I ever found.

I don't play KODI, that thing is troublesome in every platform and I never like it.
