I was wondering what makes Maybank so special that in order to apply for their credit cards, one needs to earn an monthly salary of RM 2,500 per month. I've browsed their rewards catalog and compared their benefits, not substantially outstanding when compared with other banks.

when it comes to renewal, they will charge you the annual fee and will not waive it, I cancelled my Maybank credit card because of this

Done that, just don't understand Maybank for their requirements which is why I asked for opinions.

Personally i would say maybank are one of those credit card issuer with not much restriction(other than ewallet). Most of the other CC have minimum expenditure+categories+ days) which makes things such as tracking whether you'll be getting cashback difficult. Public bank quantum is also a good alternative to maybank2 credit card. You can try apply multiple times in their website.

their Maybank 2 Card Gold/Platinum is very good for cashback

Maybank 2 Card Premier (Amex Reserve + Visa Infinite) is the best in terms of collecting airmiles <---- not applicable to you obviously

because of that, they not need do much promo or lower the requirement also got ppl will apply their cards
