QUOTE(badboy77 @ Mar 12 2020, 12:34 AM) Wanted to pull the trigger but gotten the S20 U. Maybe will wait for 2nd hand unit later on down the road But really like this phone haha. I'm tempted too but looking at the price, decided to hold on for a while. How's the S20U?

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 11 2020, 07:06 AM) It's nice, but I'm not convinced it's RM4599 nice! I did post somewhere else that they will price themselves out of the market. Whilst it is by no means a bad brand and the phone itself is arguably good, it at this juncture does not command that level of pricing, IMHO. Let’s see if I am proven inaccurate.

I think you won't be wrong If the Mi 10 comes above RM4k, then we'll know that this is the new reality.

And does Mi phones nowadays still random pop up advertisement? Just went to oppo shop tested the X2 non pro. Can't say I am very impress by it. When I see the new Reno2 selling at less than 2k (with more discounts online) I don't know how X2 Pro can justify at 4.6k. You can buy 2 Reno2 phones... I think they should give the Oppo Watch free too to make it affordable

Yeah, I'm curious to see how much would the phone cost after 6 months - same goes for the S20 Ultra.

But you have to know what you actually command especially when you are up against more notable brands. Afterall, I believe their manufacturing cost is not so high that you have to peg the price at such a level in order to make a profit. Know your worth and then work yourself up until you are deemed a sought after brand. Case in point...OnePlus.

Its always the technology or certification make the phone more costly.. eg Dolby Atmos, 5G modem model law band /high band, etc etc.. all this will affect the price point also..

Perhaps Oppo and Xiaomi might believe they are in that position already which is clearly not the case still.

I totally understand and appreciate that. However, the point I am making is, when you are not in a position to arm-lock with the big boys yet, don’t, lest you are ‘booted out’ as not many will purchase your products, due to the pricing and you will be left stranded. Know your worth and adopt a strategy that will sustain you in the long run. Caveat...this is of course my personal opinion and take on the matter.. P/S Look at Realme...IMHO, they are adopting the right strategy. This post has been edited by PeeEl: Mar 13 2020, 02:14 PM

I am really tempted to buy this phone because of the screen quality and specs. Though pricey and free gifts not up to expectations. I never own an oppo before, how's oppo quality and is the os update frequent? I plan to use this for 3 to 4 years. Used to own Samsung, Sony and now Huawei. If not for Huawei gms issue, I would have continued with Huawei.
Warranty 2 years including battery means most likely after 2 years I can change to a new battery with warranty.
