QUOTE(acbc @ Mar 10 2020, 01:51 PM)
A few days ago, I got myself an Airport Extreme for RM 100.

And I found this via Carousell. The owner told me it used to be his office router and the company retired it after moving to a larger office.

The condition was around 85% with minor scratches and yellowing.

After some through cleaning, I set it up and voila! It is a 3rd Gen model. Not too bad for the asking price.

Now, it will serve as the downstairs AP previously served by the Airport Express 2nd Gen.
Now, here is another story... from yesterday.

I found another seller selling an Airport Extreme for RM 100. I decided to take it as a spare.

Mana tahu went home and none of my devices could detect it via WiFi.

I can set it up via the Airport Utility if plugged into a LAN cable, meaning to say the WiFi is busted.

So I cracked it open this morning and found the WiFi daughterboard badly corroded. It is beyond repair.

Wasted RM 100 but at least now I have some spare parts lying around.

Lesson learned? No way to get lucky for 2nd time.

The lucky 3rd Gen one. What a beauty!
