Hi hope ya'll bear with my noob questions.



So in the interest of balancing cost savings and sound quality, which should i choose? Running 100w rms speakers front and back

Option 1: Two (4x 60w@4ohm, AB class) amps total- one amp has 2x bridged channels to power the front components, and the other amp to run the rear speakers

OR

Option 2: Just save up and buy the more expensive and straightforward amp (4x 130w@4ohm, class d amp)


Also, is there any difference in sq between ab class and d class amps when hooked up to component speakers?

Upgrade with the following, in order:

-Change to most expensive HU you can afford. Rear speakers will forever use HU amp output.
-Add 2 or 3 way front speakers (passive crossover), with quality cables
-Soundproof stage 1 for car (4 Doors, bonnet)
-Put in 2ch Amp for Front speakers, with quality RCA cables
-Soundproof stage 2 for car (front Floor Pan and front wheel fenders)
-add subwoofer and Class D amp at boot.
-Final soundproof for car (Boot, rear floor pan, n rear wheel fenders)
-enjoy life =D

Take Option : none of the above.

See my upgrade path in post above, and you will find NO USE for 4ch amp.

Save up for a better 2ch amp.


And yes, there is a diff between class AB and D in terms of SQ, but your HU and speakers, along with the RCA cable and speaker cable need to be of considerable quality to hear the diff (^-^)

1) wait n purchase more than 100 rms amp for your front, imho take out ur rear speakers, front sufficient enuf. If u run ur system correctly,
rear passengers can hear clearly same as front passengers.

2) but if u insist non rear speakers, wait n purchase more than 4x100rms for your front n rear. u can just play with what u have now.

3) ur question about 2 or 1 amp, its depends on ur budget, ur space for the amps, most important is the amp rating, if u bridge ur amp, it will stress ur amp, the thd will increase by 10x too, so only recommend bridge for sub n not front speakers.


This is to reduce ur losses so that future no need to upgrade.

since u already mention 100w front and back, im guessing u already buy 4 aftermarket speakers?

will be a waste to power the rear ones with just HU output. unless the rear still stock.

unless u listen very loud, or ur speaker somehow has very low sensitivity, 60wx4 for all speakers might be enough. no harm trying first. if not, u can just add another amp later.

im powering my 100w components with a 70w amp (bridged to get 200w). but before i bridge also, it sounds just fine. volume is lower than bridged, but sound quality i dont hear any difference.

What amp u use to bridge 4 become 2?

Infinity ref704a.

Why take 60x4? No 2ch option of the same amp?
