Hi guys, I’m a fresh graduate and just got my first job recently. On my payslip, I see that my salary not only contributes to EPF but also socso and SIP, which is under PERKESO.
A few questions to ask: 1) Can I choose to only contribute to my EPF but not socso and SIP?
2) I have only registered for EPF, not yet with PERKESO but my salary has been deducted for SOCSO and SIP, am I automatically eligible to claim for SOCSO and SIP or do I have to register with PERKESO manually?
3) Forgive me that I have barely heard about SIP, can anyone explain it briefly for me?
Thanks guys!

EPF is very important. Better you check with EPF how much is minimum salary for contribution.
Socso and SIP are mandatory deduction under employment act. Its by law. Ensure your payslip always have this to protect you in case of retrenchment.

Thanks guys! 1) NO, once u already contributed u cannot stop. 2) Yes, No need to register manually. However there are many T&C to claim from them and its only cover your journey from office to house and vice versa, or during work. 3) SIP is the new insurance everyone need to pay. Only B40 can claim iinm

SIP benefits, Assume max salary is 4k, max claimable is RM3950 per month.
1st month claim 80% x 3950 = RM3160 (still ok) 2nd month claim 50% x 3950 = RM1975 3rd & 4th month claim 40% x 3950 = RM 1580 5th and last month claim 30% x 3950 = RM1185
Overall max is 7.9k spread over 6 months average, RM1316 coverage for salary of 4K and above.
For contribution of 0.2% of salary, i think quite ok

And from time to time, also check with SOCSO that it is indeed paid to them by your employer since it's already deducted from your pay. I also experienced issue many years ago; deducted but never paid yo SOCSO. Once you paid SOCSO, you have to keep paying in next employment. It is "insurance" after all. Not sure what happens if there is future claim if errant employers defraud your contribution today i.e. gap in payment history.
