Hi,
I just bought the Allianz for MediSafe Infinite+ base plan with other rides like power link, etc.. In the policy schedule summary page where it listed benefits summary and premium dates, it stated the maturity / expiry date for all benefits is 2040 (which mean i will be 67 years old that time). But the agent said it is cover till 100 years old and will renew to 100 years old when it mature at 2040.
Is it true that it will be auto renew till 100 years without any terms?
Just worry when mature at 2040 that time, suddenly it will say other terms like health, etc.
*
auto-renew to 100 years old as long as the cash value can pay for the insurance charges. Can be 20-30k yearly premium at age 80 though..

Hi masters,

I realised that my Great Eastern medical insurance was actually an investment-linked life insurance with medical cover packaged together.

What I have is Smartprotect Essential 2, with add ons:

Premium Waiver
Critical Illness
Smart Medic + SMX
Hospitalisation Benefits
Smart Early Payout

I feel like my agent duped me into signing up for this whole bundle so he could earn more commission. This was the first product I bought from him and I knew nothing about insurance at that time.

Is there anything I can/should do about this?

If you just sign up recently still got free look period to cancel.

Hmmm I have always wondered why some agents ask us to buy medical insurance early to protect against escalating medical fees. Seems like there is no way to get a product that features fixed cost of insurance, guaranteed renewal, and no portfolio withdrawal clause

my client around 70 years old has been renewing medical card with me for more than 10 years. His premium is about 3.5k /year still reasonable as the premiums didn't increase much compared to 10 years ago not like 10x increase as feared. He told me he didn't have medical when younger back then medical costs was still not as crazy inflated. But nearing 60, he didn't mind paying yearly in case anything happens to him as the now medical costs are financially catastrophic.

I am not sure if our insurance is ok or not.

Insurance: Prudential BSN Takaful Health Enrich Premier

Age taken: 38y (H&W), 10y (Dotter). Healthy and no illness at that time.

Now: 44y & 16y
Coverage per person: -

Age: Until 80y (If I am not mistaken)

Lifetime limit: RM4,080,000

Annual limit: RM200,000

Preferred Hospitals: Suite Room

Other Hospitals: Deluxe/Single room. Need to pay RM300 as a deposit before warded. Will get back the money from PBSN.

Warded Allowance per day: RM200

Treatments/Clinic: 90 days after warded. Pay first and claims later to PBSN

Death/Disability/Critical Illness: Will get only about RM10K. This insurance covered more on the medical only.

However, if husdand or wife is contacted with the 36 critical illness automatically both premiums will be waived by PBSN for life and no need to pay premium for dotter until she is 21 or 25 years old (Can’t remember).

If dotter is contacted with the 36 critical illness, automatically dotter premium will be waived for life by PBSN. Not sure if premiums for H&W will be waived too. Need to check later.

which company got provide standalone medical card (RM100,000) with fixed premium price forever or maximum premium amount around RM2,000 to RM3,000 when 50-60 years old?
*
My client this year 63 years old has been buying medical card from me (annual limit 150k) for the past 10 years. Her annual premium when she was 50 - 59 years old is RM 1303 per year. Then now 60 plus she paying RM 1,738 yearly. Maybe this card will suit your requirement.

Hi all, looking for medical coverage for my mother, aged 59 next birthday. Any medical plans to recommend? Need quotations.

Would prefer level premium plans.

We are ok with budget up to 4k per year, if it's available.

R&b 200

I bought this for my daughter before she was born. The insurance agent is kinda pushy. I'm paying around RM190 per month. PRUlink managed fund 2 value also like crap, around RM755 only after 3 years. I was thinking of buying a new policy and terminating this one. Any suggestion?

due to first 6-7 years commission paid out to agent. For children is best to buy standalone medical card much cheaper. Later when they grow up only let them decide on the life insurance.

Hi, I need a third unbiased opinion.

So I have two agents from two different companies proposing me ILP plans. Which one do you think will be worth it for my long-term commitment?

Company A:
Monthly premium: RM180
Life: RM100k
CI: RM50k (multiple claims including early stages etc.)
PA: 50k
Medical card: Co-insurance RM300
(The agent reasoned with me that since their medical card is cheaper than the rest, actually I could save more and use the saved money to pay RM300 when I need to use the medical card)

Company B:
Monthly premium RM210
Life: RM100k
CI: RM50k (including diabetes benefits & etc.)
PA: RM50k
Medical card: Zero deductible

At first I was going for Company A but the difference between A and B is only RM30. So if I go for Company A, I would only save RM30x12 months = RM360 per year. Whereas I could use that money to buy plan from Company B with cashless admission. However, Company A reasoned that I won't be going to the hospital every year.

I think that it's like a gamble.
Company B: I pay annually an extra of RM360 more than Company A's premium but I can use the medical card hassle-free, but also I may be healthy and not have to use the medical card
OR
Company A: I can save RM360 for a few years if I never do any claims.

Which one is worth the risk/gamble?
I'm leaning towards Company B but I have to hear an unbiased opinion.
*
For me I'll choose company A. The savings do add up over the long term. i have maybe about a few hundred clients of various age groups over 10 years. But only a handful 2-3 is admitted every year. This is based on my sample size. Since i am doing general insurance also, the number of car accident claim > hospital admission is 10-20x more.

Hi all,

I am looking for medical card for both my parent, dad 63 with history of diabetic and mum 59.

Anyone can advise if I would be able to get anything for them for 2.5k per year each? I guess my dad one would be tougher but appreciates any suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

hmm, could this be an isolated case not affected by the increase of medical cost?

nola, their business model cater more towards general insurance ie. msig car insurance premium increase faster than medical premiums
more car claims than medical claims
