Recently bought an accidental coverage package. I been thinking. If accidental injuries and visit normal GP then can claim but the thing is is it really necessary ?

Because only accidental causes that can be claim. And if injuries medium might as well admitted to hospital to claim medical insurance.

Thoughts ?
*
If u r accident injured and no admission required, the medical card is covering the GP clinic fees. Based on reimbursement. Do check with your medical provider.

PA has extra claim for lose of 1 eye, lose of 1 hand, lose of thumb. Which the life and TPD is not covering this lose of Thumb. Since PA is cheap and highly recommend to buy 1.

In that case, it might be better to follow the adage, don't confuse insurance with investment? Just get a standalone medical card, money invest elsewhere and hope rich enough when elderly, or hope die young if poor investment skill.

But one time i found out standalone medical card COI is higher than ILP medical card. Other benefits you might wan to consider is the premium waiver in ILP. Standalone doesn't have this.

Hie... Looking for suggestions for life insurance.
Planning to take 2M coverage for life and 500k for critical illness. Is it advisable to take under 1 company or multiple company ex 500k per comp to diversify. Kindly advise
*
The coverage that you're buying is quite high and can be quite costly. Would suggest that you buy from 3 insurers to diversify due to the following reasons:
a) the investment returns of each company can be different (yes, the actual investment return can affect the sustainability of your policy)
b) reduce the risk of getting stuck if the life insurer goes bust. In this regard, it is best to choose from a well capitalised company. But still, it's good to diversify.
c) Underwriting requirement can be very high if you purchase 2M coverage from one single company.

Don't worry too much about "admin cost" because the insurance charges (e.g. upfront cost) is usually a fixed percentage of the premiums and any stamp duties (fixed costs) is usually minimal compared to your premiums. Also, if your agent service is good, he/she will help you to administer your policies anyway when you need to make a claim. There wouldn't be any additional cost charge to you when you make a claim because the insurer will pay the sum assured amount and there won't be processing fees for making a claim.

Having said that, some policies may offer you some discounts if the sum assured is high. That is why you may not want to over-diversify across 10 companies. 3 insurers is just nice.

The only real cost to you is the hassle of filling up proposal forms 3 times, but the benefits of diversification will be worth the hassle.

Anyone know if this is even possible? Let say currently i am on AIA. The coverage is RM1.1mil and room&board is rm150(which I think this is a lil bit bothers me everytime i need to hospitalized, have to wait for room, else they will assign me to shared room.

And face amount is 40k

Paying rm380+ month

Is that possible if i get a better policy with AIA, without having to do a full body check up again?
*
Although u are buying a RM150-Room (twin sharing room in most hospital in Malaysia), u still can stay above Rm150-room just u need to pay the room different e.g stay in a RM250 room then u need to pay the addition of RM100/day. But do check back your policy, some upgrade of room need to pay 20% co-insurance. read back to the policy T&C.

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to buy a medical insurance soon.

Details about myself:

i) In my late 20s.
ii) Not married.
iii) No dependents (so life insurance is not needed).
iv) No pre-existing illness.
v) Occupational Class 1.

Do you think a standalone medical insurance is sufficient for now or I should opt for ILP?

Any suggestions are welcomed!
*
Standalone may look sufficient for now but not for long term. Standalone medical card unable to add in other riders e.g critical illness, life etc. I would suggest to pick a ILP with basic riders and add on when there's needs in the future.

Hello all,

Outpatient Cancer Treatment - Does medical insurance cover Immunotherapy & Targeted Medicine?

Call CS they give me subject to their department review.
*
I just find out from my company which i speaking on behalf of GE. These 2 therapies are new in the industry to cure cancer. The outpatient treatment for Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy GL can be granted w/o much issue. Whereas, these 2 therapies are bring home drugs which is very expensive around RM20-30K/month. My colleague has successfully helped her customer claim by reimbursement. So is case to case basic. If this is happening to you now just follow the following steps.

The CS said can try to apply for Guaranteed Letter (GL) 1st with all the written medical reports from doctor. So ask the admission counter to apply GL to check with insurance company directly. If GL declined, then go for pay and reimbursement.

Where can buy insurance (medical card) online without going through agent and then get rebate?
*
If buying a medical via online must declare honestly. Must say she is holding an OKU card. if claim occured and found out is an OKU card holder will be quite troublesome if didnt declare when applying. Just giving some advise for you.

I bought GE life with death coverage 500k at rm150 monthly. Do we have cheaper package without investment link, purely death coverage. How much monthly premium will it be ?
*
I'm sure this RM150/m for 500K life policy was purchased some years ago. now hardly get this premium. if u wan anything cheaper than agent's offer. then self checking with the respective companies on term insurance.

Hi all sifus, is it big difference between paying premium yearly and monthly? Noted that ILP have the investment portion inside. Let say I pay by yearly, for the first month, the extra 11 month payment will go into investment account and been invest in the fund. But fund value will up and down. Is it better we pay in monthly, by average down the unit price like the concept of DCA?
*
Yes, definitely encourage you to pay monthly to practice the DCA. Since we uanble to predict the market performance in the coming 11 months.

My opinion is upgrade back to the respective company because of
1. the waiting period.
2. You pay lesser commission if only upgrade.

If your agent still servicing you pls get back to her/him. The upgrade need the agent to pass in the form.

I am getting a 200k house loan and the mrta being offered for 200k is rm6500 (25 year) & my age is 34 non smoker.

Wonder if i go buy an basic cheap life insurance 200k for 25 year will the bank accept?

And usually how much will the cost of the insurance in this case?

Thanks

I think the MRTA offer is consider cheap. Some more you are allowed to finance into the loan. Why not?

ILP and standalone about the same. Bcoz the cost of insurance of the medical card is increase as age progress. Standalone medical card may seem much cheaper now but 5-10 years later the price will be double to triple.

Whereas, ILP you are paying more now and accumulate the cash value to help to sustain when the increment happen on the medical card and still pay the same premium.

how to upgrade GE policy with higher coverage?

have an old policy from 2005.

Great Protectlink Insurance with IL Health Protection

Annual Coverage is only 50K
Lifetime 200K.. mana cukup

Paying rm375 x4 per year
Investment value got rm12k now

Shall i just cancel this policy and buy a new one with unnlimited Lifetime?  Or possible buy another policy as a second policy?
*
I have helped my customer upgraded this policy b4 to the latest medical rider. Speaking as I’m representing this company.
You may just upgrade from great protect link by withdraw the ILHP and insert the new rider. Annually Rm990k-1.32mil and unlimited lifetime.

You need to submit a form called psf02 to declare your current health status.

The new rider will be still ilp or standalone? Is this a better option comparing to getting a new plan?

I am also looking for another 2 medical cards for wife n kid.

Currently all of us are under co group coverage rm30k per issue. So most prob get a deductible type as suggested by lifebalance
*
The rider is still in great protect link. So it is still an ILP. You r taking out the ILHP rider and add in this new rider.

If u want to upgradeeither through agent or walk in to HQ in Jalan Ampang. If u r from other state then to the respective branch in ur area.

Sure, I’m happy to assist. ☺️

Hi all,

I have been working for a year since i graduated and now want to buy a medical insurance each for myself and my girlfriend. I am eyeing few companies specifically AIA, allianz, prudential and great eastern. I have look around the websites, but feel insecure to buy myself w/o the help of someone with the knowledge.

Preferably, i want to have an annual limit of 1m with low to non deductible (max 5k?). However, i am unsure how much will it cost me so not sure if i could pay off the premiums. So i might consider to lower it down to 500k.

I would to know how much does it cost for standalone medical card and investment linked w medical card as rider aylt 500k and 1m annual limit. So any agent willing to help me out or quote me a price?

Btw, can i lower down the portion paying the investment? I just want the flexibility of having an investment-linked insurance not the investment/return part of it.

Thanks sifus.
*
New guideline since last year by BNM on the sustainability on 70/80/90 years old. No more lower down portion for investment in ILP product. With bare amount can't even get the quotation to be generated.

Dear sifus,

I am currently looking for medical insurance and came across Medisavers underwritten by Lonpac Insurance. The limit increases 10% a year and it seems like it is the cheapest in the market. Should I be aware of certain fine prints? Seems like this policy is the best, are there any other better alternatives?

Other illness claim up to 1mil but outpatient cancer treatment only giving 25k (room 250) and 40k for (room 400)? Solely based on the description above.

Do u think this amount is sufficient for a cancer treatment in Malaysia Private Hospital?

Earlier on we have discussed on the targeted and immunotherapy which cost about 100-200k per year.
