Im using Dell Inspiron 14R 5421 (originally come with freedos)
Previously i used W7 pro with serial key buy from lyn seller (RM25 if im not mistaken)

I decided to upgrade to W10 and use SSD drive.

I download the iso by using Windows 10 installation media (Media Creation Tools) USB.

Before i format the W7 hdd, i use Show Key Plus software to get the W7 serial number in case i have problem in future.
But the software cannot detect the W7 seial number.
Already chat with Microsoft helpdesk also cannot retrieve the serial key.

Since the key is cheap, so nevermind la


So i start with fresh install for W10 at my new SSD.
Old hdd i delete all partition and format (put at caddy - optical drive)

During the installation, i skip to key in the serial key since i dont buy it yet.
I didnt link any email with Microsoft product.

I use the laptop about 2~3 day without key in the serial key.

I just plan to buy the serial key, but what surprising me is the Windows 10 already activated!


Im using free dos supposedly no oem serial number in motherboard.
Old hdd, i fully delete and format the partition.
I retrieve the W10 serial key by using ShowKeyPlus software, i cross check with my record, i never bought any serial key with the same key.



Now i have doubt am i using the original installer or not?
Is it crack version? But i download from Microsoft official website.


How this can happen?

Because last time you activated using Win7 Key and ur hardware is binded in microsoft server, so you will get that generic key, which is VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T FOC Upgrade.

So you have licensed genuine win 10 pro. So no worry its not pirated.

In future you can just format and install without any key, once connected online ur hardware is match in Microsoft server then it will activated.

Dude, just buy a key from Shopee lah, it's only RM10, with that key, you don't have to use crack at all, your Windows will become genuine
