I was wondering, did parent install spy app in your child's handphone?

My son (13 year old) got a phone now, and only allow to use when he is in the house and in weekend. I now thought of monitoring his phone, I know it's breach of privacy, but I like to sacrifice that for his safety and wellbeing.

If you're giving him a phone at 13, either a tracking app, or a history app is absolutely necessary.

The other option is obviously a nanny app that limits what sites/apps he is able to use on the phone - this would be a less intrusive option that would not make you feel guilty of invading his privacy.

I feel that at 13, they not only have to be monitored but parents should also be proactive to guide the child about the do and don't. Beside passive, active action is equally important.

I think if limit the websites he go to still okay. But to read what he is saying to his friends feel like invading privacy. Must trust children a bit more.

As far as I know, Android OS does not allow full spy or whatsoever, otherwise its considered a security issue. Big time.

You can however try installing Google Family Link for children & teens

I'm using it right now.

It does control his phone, track his location whereabouts (via the app and Google Map), track his app usage that he installed, set time limit on app and entire phone per day usage, and even limit his Chrome browser. I think this will fit your requirement.
but you cant spy his Whatsapp messages , if he has one. You will need a separate app for that.

The app can able to lock down the phone should he misbehave or the phone is stolen.
