Should I get the iPad mini 5 instead or cheaper iPad 6th gen (32gb)

Always go with the latest model if you want future proof.

Personally opinion, reading ebook/magazine on bigger screen is way better.

if you want mobility, the mini might be an ok size for reading but for notes, a bigger screen would be better! do you have any intention of writing your notes on the screen?

I think not and the size is doesnt matter. Only reading lecture notes and some ebooks. Is it worth if I add a few hundred ringgit for iPad mini and extra 32GB compared to iPad 7th?

I think if you can afford it and the difference is not so much, a better screen and the memory will definitely be useful. Especially if you're going to store a lot of books on it. (Also good for when you want to procrastinate and watch movies! )
