Hi all,

I'm planning to change my Estima's tires from its stock (2x Landsail + 2x Toyo NE3 - they are 2 years apart so I would keep Toyo if budget is a constraint).

I mostly drive in moderate to slow speed: Bandar Kinrara/Puchong - Cyberjaya route hitting only 120km/h +/-, fetching kids to school in a residential area and once a month or 2 would travel to Malacca or Perak. As there's always an issue with Estima's steering rack that results in a gluk gluk noise, I'm looking for a low noise and comfortable tyres to replace with.

Shortlisted Tyres and its prices are taken from Klang Hin Leong (just as a reference). If possible, I prefer not to travel to Klang for this.

* Michelin Primacy 4 RM355
** Yokohama Ae50 RM300
Bridgestone ER33 RM310
Continental UC6 RM310
Toyo CF2 RM325
Toyo TR1 RM295
Toyo Neo3 RM275

* Michelin Primacy 4 is the most costly and also the most recommended by many people around me

** Yokohama AE50 is recommended by a fellow Estima FB member as a good budget tyre for Estima.


Do share what you think and also recommend if there's any good tyre shops to check with in the area of Bandar Kinrara/Puchong.

Michelin is the way to go. It may cost more but they do last a bit longer. Primacy 4 or Pilot Sport 4 are very good options.

I have a pair of 5 year old Michelin Primacy 3ST on my car and after 45,000 KMs they still have a ton of tread left.

Tumpang here, same dimension as above but for sedan.

Based on the list above, which one is the most comfort/silent ?

Sedan? Let me guess. Camry?

Michelin Primacy 4 is the best of the bunch. If you want performance Michelin PS4 is best. Slightly noisier but amazing dry and wet performance expected from a UHP tyre.

Can also consider Bridgestone Turanza T005A. Tread design seems similar to Primacy 4. Both are in the same touring class tyres.

Continental UC6 is also another one to consider. But I do not like locally developed Continental as they are interior in performance and quality to German/Europe made Continental models. Especially the garbage MC5, CC5 and CC6.

Yes Primacy 4 is highly recommended for midrange touring comfort tire. If want cheaper one, try the new Hankook Prime 3 or Bridgestone Turanza T005A.

BTW, I have settled with 4 new Michelin Primacy but I opted to a shop nearby my home RM390/tyre.

Yes, a RM35-difference for each tyre. The reason for this was due to 1. Traveling from Bandar Kinrara to Klang was a hassle and I have kids to take care of at home. 2. Was told in separate channel that this tyre shop in Klang's service was bad and waiting time was longer (2-3 hours). 3. After-sales service could be a hassle.

So, I spent RM140 extra to avoid the above. Worth it or not, up to individual

Here's the pricelist I got for other models. Take note that this shop sells Nexen Tyre and take Michelin tyres from other source. It could be more expensive. Cheapsake me managed to ask for metal valves. FYI, alignment is free for 2 and 4 tyres - so you do not need to opt for 4 in a Go.

For 225 45 17 and 225 40 18 i tried both (1) Hankook Evo V12 and (2) Nexen or Roadstone same factory by the way SU1 Nfera.... both r darn good tyres.... brand more favor to V12 Evo but performance i'd give it to Roadstone/ Nexen a slight edge... both excel in stability at high speed and aquaplaning, very stable hard braking around 120-160, very grippy tires... both rated AA...i feel roadstone better comfort. Ive used both tires 2-3 round each d

The Hankook 17'' and Roadstone 18'' around Under 400 . Hankook 18 need under 500/tire. (Sabah market)

I tried briefly (3) Dunlop Direzza 225 45 18 about 400rm (discount), good stability grip comfort.

Currently on (4) Bridgestone RE003 first round (second hand car) 235 45 17 very good also and quiet...how much are they going for actually in this size?

I strongly2 recommend Korea tires the two i mentioned but the thing is Korea tires now cant find in the local market here i doNo wat happen to them...Anyone knows?
I would gladly try them again if got chance
