My E2160's voltage reading in BIOS vary from 1.396 to 1.41x while CPU-Z is 1.36x to 1.39x. Temperature is 34~37'C idle with Asus Triton 70 and Tuniq TX-2. Full load 7x'C :sob:

QUOTE(Amedion @ Feb 28 2008, 06:22 PM) Just re-mounted by Asus Triton 70. Orthos blend test with priority 9 max temp is 63'C for CPU and 65'C for core. To me it's satisfactory. Will try to get 2nd 9cm fan on it to further improve it BTW, my Orthos test results for 1.41vcore is here: 7hours 47 minutes with 1.41vcore in BIOS ![]() Note: This is actually 3.2ghz at 400x8 not x9. Gonna raise it back to 1.41vcore This post has been edited by Silverfire: Feb 28 2008, 06:40 PM |

QUOTE(hycn @ Feb 28 2008, 06:52 PM) I just bought a pentium E 2180 2Ghz,default is 200*10, I overclocked to 400*8=3.2G@1.4V CPU v, next time I ll try higher clock. Hmm, not me. I'm not trying to get higher FSB as my board only supports up to 16000FSB and if any higher need to add voltage for FSB and Northbridge. Not worth it if mobo and proc boom together is any body tried higher FSB? ? |

QUOTE(a1098113 @ Feb 29 2008, 02:22 PM) u cant play decnt games which require multiple threads with a processor like e21*0, thats a fact, this is where anything with 2MB will thrive. But any single thread gaming, i would prefer the e21*0 since clock speed plays a bigger role than cache size. Agreed. The only difference of E21x0 is that its needed to be overclocked and the temperature is higher but the price is cheap You wont feel any difference using an overclocked E21x0 with an E8200 on normal stuff like Windows. Just my 2 cents |

QUOTE(iman_210 @ Feb 29 2008, 02:51 PM) i thought cache does play a role...say form 2 to 4mb...it does incerase performance of the game...tried googling guys... Nope, not a big difference. A such a small difference even you can't feel it. I just tried Crysis 1024x768 @ High, virtually no lag at all. FYI, E2160 @ 3.2ghz with 1600FSB can score up to 2741 in 3DMark06 which is only around 50 marks lesser than E8400 working at original clocks. This post has been edited by Silverfire: Feb 29 2008, 03:17 PM |

QUOTE(flatfinger @ Feb 29 2008, 04:14 PM) hehhehe...sold mine oso...but installing window from the copying screen until finished...only take +-10 minutes woooo You mean with your E8400 @ 4.2Ghz? I think that one also affected by hard disk writing speed gua... Try SCSI hark disk, maybe 1 time faster QUOTE(Amedion @ Feb 29 2008, 04:19 PM) Yeap, yeap This post has been edited by Silverfire: Feb 29 2008, 04:20 PM |

QUOTE(Amedion @ Feb 29 2008, 04:20 PM) Bro, what is ur current clockspeed using the Asus Triton? 400x8 with 1.39~1.41vcore. Temp idle 34'C in air conditioned room while full load can reach 64'C so far(will try to put 2nd 9cm fan on my Triton 70 and see the temp again, next weekend). Try Thermalright HR-01, my friend say it's a nice compact heatsink for CPU. Much similar like Triton 70 which can put fan on, but according to what he say its better than Triton 70. I still don't know which cooler to purchase.. Surveying.. Maybe coolermaster GeminII or Hyper212.. |

QUOTE(zs3889 @ Mar 1 2008, 04:11 AM) erm...seemed u all were so satisfied with the E2160's overclock potential, shall i ask izzit the following rig with E2160 suitable to works overclock ?? Yes... Unless your E2160 is unoverclockable and IP35-E is also a very nice board, so should be no probs overclocking it. Are you getting this rig or are you owning it? If you getting it, don't go for 8600GT/S. Try and get 9600GT.intel E2160 abit ip35-e Galaxy 8600GT2 seagate 160gb sata2 real power 450watt psu DDR2 2gb combo drive izzit a suitable rig to works overclock with E2160?? need some suggestion and advice from u guys.... if the above spec isn't suitable, pls gv some suggestion on it.... thx for reply~~~~~ This post has been edited by Silverfire: Mar 1 2008, 07:56 AM |
