Thanks alot there kucingfight.Redownloaded the CoreTemp 0.95.4 just now and its now showing idle temperature at 39c as compared to the 53c shown at 0.96.1.
Hopefully, this is the correct temperature..LOL..

But logically on idle, it should be 39C, at least not until 53C . You can always finger test the hsf and the area around it. |

QUOTE(a1098113 @ Jan 20 2008, 10:30 PM) @aka Well, i am using it previously - the newest CoreTemp and its showing my temperature to be at 53 - 56c at idle at stock which really scares me.bro there is a newer one out now. Its coretemp 0.96. Its the latest. Get it. After looking at cats post i retract this and yes agreed get 0.95.4 just tested 0.96, not much difference but hmm However, when i revert back to the 0.95.4 version, its currently showing me to run at 39c even on 2.4Ghz (300 * 8). Even when i rebooted, my bios temperature reading is showing me roughly the same, at around 37c. So, i guess the older version was more accurate than the newer version though. At least at my case. Another thing is, the newer 0.96 version is showing my TjMax to be at 100c QUOTE(kucingfight @ Jan 20 2008, 10:34 PM) LOL, at least the lower figure gives u a better feeling. LOL..Yea, its at least giving me less heartattack. But logically on idle, it should be 39C, at least not until 53C . You can always finger test the hsf and the area around it. Well, i would love to test it a few days first and see whether its still around the same or not. Lets hope the MX-2 will be better after curing..LOL... Thanks for the guidance there.. so sad! jk. You ni kena play with Vcore la, sayang. after 3.0Ghz u have to up your Vcore. No pain no gain for top speeds. Do you know what Vcore i am running on? 1.50V for my 3.44Ghz. This is where experience counts aite. Learn slowly. |

The E2180 generally has lower OC capability then E2140/2160. Don ask me why i do not know aso. Here is my specs i manage 2 reach: 3.0@1.35v Rams DDR610mhz Y................................................. Your RAM speed @ DDR2 1230? that's way too high man, try 1:1 ratio. It could be hampering your OC. Set your ram to 5-6-6-18 first. This is to eliminate the ram speed factor. Go to the bios, disable all the 'rubbish' CPU function eg EIST, C1E and etc ( i cant remember em) Noticed ur on STOCK hsf, so don expect much over 3ghz. @ the speed, the temp is already killing the stock hsf This post has been edited by kucingfight: Jan 20 2008, 11:28 PM |

Ok. now i can help you, you have the same board like me Do this. 1.38..V- 3.20Ghz play 1:1 man like what kucing said. U cant do it with IP35e. I know this board with my fingertips, i live and sleep with it. literally. Added on January 20, 2008, 11:33 pm@kucing yes yes those secret rams can do a nonstable 1000Mhz with cl4 lol. Nice eh. Its your stuff man, if u know what i mean @rozz Another advice, get better hsf, and what i am giving you is basically about 2 hours hours worth of playing on the right Vcore for my e2140. Should be the same for you. This post has been edited by a1098113: Jan 20 2008, 11:33 PM |

This C1E and Eist is just a function Intel gives to alternate the multipliers so you can use less power. In laymans terms. But when u r ocing u can disable it. Like i told u, follow it, it might work. I have the same board like you. It has a Vdroop of -0.02V and when u give full load, there is a further ripple of 0.02V. 1.38V-3.2Ghz. Added on January 20, 2008, 11:44 pm@rozz try 400*8 instead. and a 1:1 ratio and the voltage at 1.38V, see whether it works. This post has been edited by a1098113: Jan 20 2008, 11:44 PM |

i am still noob la bro. learning all the time. Yeah we can share notes. Hmm, i would not suggest a stress test just yet for your 3.2Ghz clock. Just have a slap at 1.38V see whether can. Coz this board is like that. But maybe the E2180 has limits, but hey, never know till we try. The limit of Vcore i suggest with 3.2Ghz is 1.40V, for stock cooling. Nothing more. If you cant, then its just the proc then. remember 400*8. and 1:1 on Dram:Fsb. Go go go. Do it now. |

set Vdimm at 2.00V or auto if u have. WHat bios version u using, Use BIOS version 11, its the OC bios. Set Vdimm at 2.00V and Vcore at 1.38V..
The ratio should be at 1:1.00 not 1:1.20, coz default is such at 1:1.20 Put it at 1:1.00 |
